How can I make Safari remember the contents of the `

fields of the

Is there a Safari (or Chrome) extension that does this?
This question applies mostly to Mac OS X, but also relevant for iOS devices.

## Problem Statement
On macOS, Is there a way to open all links from a Chromium PWA application in my default browser, Safari? Any advice or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.
## Scenario
1. Open Bing Chat Microsoft Edge's PWA application
2. Any link clicked to be opened in Safari application instead of Microsoft Edge
## Attempted Solutions
I tried using **Choosy**, **Valjar**, and **Open In**. The only one that works but needs two clicks instead of one is **Choosy**, by right-clicking the link and pressing open in Choosy context menu. I thought of using Choosy API to prepend all links with Choosy using Tampermonkey user script. But I still cannot find a solid solution for my problem.

I’m using 1Password 7 (the very last pre-subscription version) which requires a »classic« (deprecated Manifest 2) extension. As the extension is no longer available through the Chrome Extensions Store, I have to manually install it, by loading the unpacked extension (which I place in
~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/Extensions/
) via chrome://extensions in Developer mode.
The annoying problem is that with every Chrome update the extension gets removed and has to be reinstalled manually ... and we all know the update frequency of Chrome.
**Question is: How to prevent Chrome from deleting the extension?**
*(Currently using Chrome Version 131.0.6778.109 (Official Build) (arm64) on macOS 15.1.1)*

How can I disable auto-lock in the 1Password browser extension?
I use the 1Password password manager and the Chrome web browser. Whenever I try to auto-fill a password, a tool tip says, "Press the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar to unlock." When I click the icon in the toolbar, it prompts me to enter my password.
In the 1Password app, I navigated to 1Password menu –> Preferences... –> Security. I set, "Require Master Password every 2 weeks," and I disabled all five kinds of auto-lock. In the 1Password browser extension, I navigated to Menu –> Settings... –> Security, and I disabled, "Automatically lock 1Password." Nevertheless, the browser extension continues to repeatedly ask for my password.
I searched on the 1Password website, and I read the support article, ["How to set 1Password to lock automatically."](https://support.1password.com/auto-lock/) I also read the Reddit post "How to disable 1Password X lock?" Unfortunately, this post comes from three years ago, and it refers to 1Password X, but I use 1Password 7 instead. According to 1PasswordCS-Blake, for 1Password X, the extension does not integrate with the app. But for 1Password 7, the settings for the extension show a toggle switch for integrating with the app.
Please find attached screenshots of the tool tip in the browser extension, password prompt in the browser extension, security preferences in the app, and security settings in the browser extension.

Right now, I am manually scrolling the page and copying the API's payload. What are the options to automate the process?
Few things I have thought to give a try including PyAutoGUI (Python) and Macbook's automator. Is there any better way to do this task?

I want to start a Kantu web macro from the command line on Mac. Essentially this is as simple as opening the Chrome or Firefox browser with a local HTML page (which contains the macro code). All works fine on Windows. But on macOS, when I use
mac:~ open 'file:////Users/fabrice/Kantu/demoautofill.html?direct=1&close=1&savelog=demotestlog.txt'
Chrome starts, and the file URL gets opened, **but** the
'?direct=1&close=1&savelog=demotestlog.txt'
GET parameter part is lost.
So the question is: How to launch a local html file with GET parameters?
I found this post: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/7710803/open-a-local-html-file-with-url-params-through-applescript which uses AppleScript as a workaround, but it is for Safari, I need Chrome. Plus I would like to avoid using AppleScript, if possible.

How does one find the plug-in setting on Chrome for Mac to aid in stopping Chrome Helpers processes from running?

I recently noticed that I had about 4 or 5 Google Chrome Helper processes running in my Mac. I have no windows opened on chrome and it seems that the Helper processes still stay there regardless. I looked at the other question https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/164705/why-does-google-chrome-launch-multiple-instances-of-google-chrome-helper and this good article explaining what the issue is and how to solve it. They suggest to follow the following steps:
1. shut down all your Chrome windows without quitting the program.
2. go to “Preferences,” scroll all the way down in the menu
3. click on “Show advanced settings…”
4. The first item in the expanded advanced settings list will be “Privacy,” and click on the “Content Settings” button right under that.
5. (**step that fails for me**) About halfway down the content settings list is a “Plug-ins” entry, which will likely be set to “Run automatically.” Instead, select “Click to play.”
The instructions are clear and easy to follow **but** it seems that the plug-ins button doesn't exist or it was moved. Does someone know where the plugins section went to?
I don't know even if we find the new section for the plugins if it would solve the problem, but if it doesn't, can we truly get these chrome helper processes to go away?
As a side remark, I did go to the extensions section of chrome and I disabled **all of my extensions**, however, I still have at least 3 chrome helper windows running. Why is that? Can we get rid of them in anyway?
----
It seems that the main issue is that the new extension section has no clear (analogous to the article) way of preventing auto-helping to enable. This seems to be my main goal. To have the auto-helping turned off. In particular I want it to work as this sentence of the article suggests:
> Disabling Helper’s auto-helping is easy, and it won’t prevent you from using plug-ins.
Right now the extension section has no analogous section to the "Click to play" which seems to play the following important role:
> This is essentially the same thing as configuring email to load images
> only when you click a “load images” link. Any embedded Flash, Java,
> Quicktime, DivX, or Silverlight content on a webpage will appear as a
> grayed-out space until you click on it to load the player and the
> content.
Right now the only way that (very) unreliable works is disabling the extensions. Which is of course not the solution I want or the solution the article alludes to.
Is there a "Click to play" in the new chrome for mac?

I've found solutions for this problem but they dont seem applicable now in 2017.
For some reason, Google Chrome Helper is using a lot of my CPU and fans are going full blast. I found this link on Apple's site that seems to help everyone but I can't seem to find it on my version of Chrome. I have a MBP running 10.9.5.
They mention to go to Chrome > preferences > settings > show advanced settings > content settings (under privacy). Then click the 'click to play' button under the Plugins section. However, there's no plugins section and so I can't do this to try to fix the problem. I'm using Chrome version 56.0.2924.
I don't have many extensions installed on Chrome (just Webex, Google docs, Okta). I have Flash installed too, which I think is taking some resources but there are times I'm not watching video or using anything with Flash and it's still using 150% CPU.
What workaround can I do with this version of Chrome to make Google Chrome helper from using > 150% CPU?
