Can I connect the Macbook Pro to one of these two computers, use the Roxio Titanium software on my Macbook Pro, but burn the DVD on one of the Superdrives?
I'm looking at purchasing Roxio Toast Titanium 19, but open to suggestions for other software. I won't be doing a large amount of DVD authoring, just hobby stuff.
Thanks!

I've got a macOS laptop and I'm attempting to convert old VHS tapes to playable DVDs. I convert the VHS tapes to .mp4 format using OBS and then attempt to burn the .mp4 files to playable DVDs using the Burn app.
The Burn app automatically prompts me to convert to .mpg and it does this conversion for me. That's fine for a few VHS tapes that aren't too long however some are 2+ hours and as a result, the .mp4 files are more than 8GBs which when converted to .mpg, they're greater than the space on a DVD so I'm not able to burn them.
Any ideas how to solve this issue so that I can convert the longer VHS tapes to playable DVDs?

I have a camera module for the iPhone to make it as if it has USB female socket instead of lightning one.
I’ve verified it works for my portable keyboard (musical instrument) to send signals to GarageBand nicely. The module also includes another port for a power supply!
It was once a problem for iPhone to transfer any data to different device before the *Files* app became available, but it is not now, I assume.
That being the case, is it possible to transfer data stored on an iPhone to a CD/DVD using the camera module and CD/DVD writer?

When I try to burn my downloaded Mac OS X 10.7 Lion install disc to a DVD, I get this error:
> The disc inserted does not have enough free space
The DMG disc image says it's "4.72 GB" and the physical label on the DVD says it's "4.7 GB". Disk Utility on Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, the installed OS, says the inserted DVD is 0 bytes.
There are guides available for how to burn Lion to a disc, so it must be possible, unless it isn't possible *anymore*?

I have to install Win 10 onto my mid 2011 MacBook Pro (El Capitan) using Boot Camp.
I have two SSD on my machine (one was switched with the SuperDrive) and they works greatly normally.
This morning I woken up and I wanted to install Win 10 onto one of my SSDs. I use yet VirtualBox and tried also Parallel Desktop. But today I want to use Boot Camp.
The situation is:
1. my Mac doesn't support USB boot to install Win
2. I have already installed the drivers (via Boot Camp) on a pen drive
3. I have a beautiful DVD RW (that I burned at least 6 times only today)
4. I can use the Superdrive externally
5. I don't know how to burn correctly the Win10.iso
Step 5.: why?
Because Boot Camp doesn't recognize the Win10 DVD (message: "*The installer disc could not be found*"). I tried many DVD burning formats such as:
- HFS+ (okay, this option failed obviously, t's my fault: it's an Apple format)
- DVD UTF
- PC (Joliet)
- ISO9660
- Joliet 103 characters (solo)
using [Burn](http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net) .
I tried also to burn the ISO via El Capitan's Disk Utility. Same error.
The destination disk is correctly formatted Ex FAT Master Boot Record.
I don't know to do.
- - - -
UPDATE
- - - -
I noticed that the error message *The installer disc could not be found* was referring to the USB Boot Camp Drivers.
So, it was not a DVD problem. I didn't plug the USB drive with the drivers. My fault. Now I plugged both Superdrive and the USB with the drivers.
Finally Boot Camp Assistant now is happy and left me to continue. After click *Continue* the Mac rebooted automatically, but... I seen a black screen with a intermittent underscore at top left of the screen (this is a little good sign: it was the Windows boot).
But the BIOS (?) seems to be locked, no messages, no alert, nothing... only this intermittent underscore. I waited 15 - 20 minutes and nothing changed. I tried to press Enter, Space without any result. So I have to reboot the machine.
From the Mac OS X partition I can see:
So I think the DVD results bootable.
What could be the problem now? :(

I am using Final Cut Pro on Mavericks and Yosemite. Even though the one on Mavericks says: the latest version cannot run on the current OS -- must install the latest compatible version instead. However, both versions on Mavericks and Yosemite report version 10.1.4.
And when I create a DVD disk using Share -> DVD and create a disc, burned by either the SuperDrive or a Pioneer drive, the disc cannot be played on a set top box DVD player... the disc I created using iDVD on an old Macook with Snow Leopard, can be played on that set top DVD player though.
Is there some way to make it work?

I'm having an odd issue where after my Mac Pro works for a certain amount of time (it seems variable), the drive will no longer seemingly be recognized. It shows up in the hardware profile for the system, however when I hit the eject key, Toast starts up instead of my drive responding. Further, when Toast or any other CD / DVD writing utility is started, the drive is not recognized in these applications. Any idea as to what could potentially be going on here?
The thing that throws me the real curve ball is that it DOES work for a little while when the system is restarted and then just "disappears" as noted.
NOTE: Even when Toast is not in the mix Disk Utility and other apps will not recognize the drive. It is obviously some kind of an OS issue in terms of it still showing up in the hardware profile, yet no applications are able to detect / use it properly.

I am burning a folder onto a DVD. The folder contains subfolders which have images and video files.
I am burning by dropping the folder onto a blank DVD on the desktop, opening it up and clicking "Burn", then using maximum speed to burn. At the end of the burn finder brings up a message saying that it couldn't verify the burn, and ejects the disc.
If I insert the disc back into the Mac, I get a message saying that it cannot be read.
I have done this 4 times only one disc has worked. All four times were done in the same method. The discs are Verbatim 4.7GB 16x DVD-R
How can I complete the burn successfully?
Update
------
The error codes is:
> This disc can’t be verified and might be unreliable. Try again using a new blank disc (error code 0x80020063).
I have researched the error and not a lot is written, just that I should try to close the finder window as soon as the disc starts to burn. This would seem like a very simple bug that Apple would have fixed by now.
I tried this and it didn't work. However I used a Verbatim DVD-RW 4x speed and the message poped up again, yet when I inserted the DVD it worked and all the data was on it.

I keep finding things about iDVD when I search but from further reading iDVD is no longer available. So doing a quick search on google you get your standard "This app will do it all" type sites, usually really crappy software so I don't want to waste 20, 50, 100+ dollars on an app that I'll use once in a blue moon or on an app that's actually worthless.

So I got a DVD-RAM and a BD-RE both formatted with UDF, packet-writeable (I think packet writing is the wrong descriptor here as a DVD-RAM is randomly addressable but it's pretty close).
At least the DVD-RAM seems to be somewhat offically supported and they are delivered with UDF on them as factory default anyway.
So now as I drag & drop a file onto the disc in Finder this will most of the time fail with some error like "xy cannot be read or written" same happens when using cp in Terminal to copy a file. i/o errors...
But this seems to happen only because some of the sectors are corrupted on the disc (and not yet marked as defective) or there are some buffering errors sometimes, because if you try often enough it will eventually write the whole file without an error. But especially with big files this is pretty annoying as the error occurs a little later every write until the whole file is written to disc (flawlessly btw. it reads and checksums perfectly then)
Is there anything I could try to fix this behavior? My best guess is Finder reacting too harsh to i/o errors as these are not very common for harddrives but much more common on optical drives.
BD-RE shows exactly the same issues but less often. DVD-RAM is worse by far.

I've just upgraded my 2011 17" MacBook Pro with a brand spankin' new SSD hard drive and 8GB of RAM. In order to fully maximize the potential of the system, I'd like to install Windows 7 to take full advantage of the specs.
That being said, when I downloaded the Windows 7 ISO from Digital River, I was unable to burn it through Disk Utility. The burn failed due to a medium error, and I can't figure out why.
It's a brand new spindle of DVD-Rs, granted it's a brand I've never heard of, but I was able to burn a couple other items using them, so I'm at a loss as to what's going on here.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
