Bluestacks can emulate Android and play Angry Bird but not Pokemon Go?
It is a bit strange Bluestacks (4.270) can run on the Mac, and run Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, but when Pokemon Go is run, the spinner just spins and cannot log in. Is there anything special about this app and is there a way to make it work?

But I wanted to try Pokémon Go today and I cannot play without signing up with a Google account.
I heard that you could create a Pokémon club account instead of Google but I don't even have the option, only the button to sign up with google appears.
Does anybody have a solution for that?

I have a different Gmail account connected to my Pokemon Go than the gmail account in my phone. The game attempts to use phone's gmail account, and it does not allow to set login details manually. Does the Google Play store always show an app's update date and version consistently?
I thought the update date and version should be consistent. I'm experimenting with using am alternate rom (cm13) as a stopgap method to play Pokemon Go between suhide updates. it's not ideal, due to the large downtime involved with backup and restore between roms just for 1 game, but it has 2 major perks:
1. if niantic's algorithms detect that users are identifying some players by the fact that they'll only log in when there's known working bypasses, then this will circumvent that (legitimately)
2. this complies with niantic's wishes to alienate rooted roms.
I've pretty much stripped all common apps, system and user, plus some audio files (ringtone, alarm, etc) and language files.
nano gapps was installed and I removed a chunk of what that added too. and this brings the total rom size down to about 1220mb installed (996 in system) or 627mb total as TWRP backup. that still seems rather large to me for the purpose of being a walking skeleton.
my question is:
what system files, be it libraries, binaries, fonts, etc etc etc can be straight up deleted without breaking cell, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Google Play, web browser (any), or any absolutely necessary core functionality? I want to butcher this rom.

I have not seen the same problem with Samsung Galaxy Phones of CM13.

I was curious about Pokemon Go so I downloaded it and started creating a character. After about 3 minutes my phone said it was stopping all applications because my phone was overheating. Curious as to how pokemon go could overheat my Galaxy S4? As an aside, apps on my SD card keep moving back to device storage. I had to put them back on SD card again to get Pokemon Go to download so that may have been related but I am not sure?
How can a phone overheat?
And yes, I have uninstalled Pokemon Go now.
