Error 505 when installing Facebook Messenger
I have a Sony Z5 Compact running Nougat. I am unable to install Facebook Messenger. When I try I get the Error Code -505. I have tried installing using ADB with the following command: adb install com.facebook.orca_108.0.0.10.70-51197341_minAPI21\(armeabi-v7a\)\(280,360,400,420,480,560,640dpi\)_apkmi...

I get the error message: > Failed to install com.facebook.orca_108.0.0.10.70-51197341_minAPI21(armeabi-v7a)(280,360,400,420,480,560,640dpi)_apkmirror.com.apk: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_DUPLICATE_PERMISSION: Package com.facebook.orca attempting to redeclare permission com.facebook.receiver.permission.ACCESS already owned by com.facebook.appmanager] Is this something I have done? The phone is _not_ rooted, nor have I unlocked the boot loader. Apart from wiping the phone is there anything I can do to get the app installed? (I'm aware of all the 3rd clients, but I would really like to solve this problem.) The app was installed before the upgrade to Android 7, but an update would not install. I have done the usual steps like restarting, empty cache and data of Play Services, etc. This is not a duplicate of https://android.stackexchange.com/q/88214 , which was supposed to be solved with an upgrade to Android 5.0.2. I am running Android 7.

Since I'm pretty sure I "Got it", is there a way to disable this warning/info ? Here's a screenshot of the ScrollView.

In the last couple of Android updates I've found an issue when playing music via the Chromecast device on my TV. It seems once the screen sleeps the phone disconnects from the Chromecast and doesn't continue playing music. If the power button is pressed quickly it will usually start to play again. The only way I've found to resolve this so far is to set my screen to never time out and turn the brightness down to minimum, but this not an ideal fix. I'm using the built in music app on my Xperia Z5. I've tried other apps but they all do the same thing. There was an app called N7 that when used along with Toaster Cast, worked okay, but then Toaster, Cast stopped working. Does anyone know how to fix this. I don't think that the phone is disconnecting from the router as I still get notifications when the screen is off.

I updated my Z5 to Marshmallow 6.0 yesterday. Worst mistake of my life. It locked out my phone and wiped some SD photos (so I couldn't get past the keylock screen - on entering the correct code, it goes black momentarily, thinks about it, then returns to the lock screen on a never ending loop). Clicking any notifications fro the dropdown menu brings up the keylock screen again, and on inputting the correct keycode in, I get the error message 'unfortunately, system UI has stopped working' then it returns to the locked screen again. I can receive calls, emails and texts...but I cannot access them, or send anything. Worth noting that I already did a factory reset (and lost further photos from my sons 5th birthday), which fixed the problem last night...and this morning it return in the same manner as above. About to do a further factory reset, but that's no way to live my life with a 3 month old phone.... Someone please help (And also any help on recovering my SD images would be welcomed!) I have been to x2 O2 stores, with one Guru who couldn't' find a solution. THANKS! Maria

I have gone into the app settings and selected "Sounds & Notifications / App Notifications / (app name) / Allow peeking", but there are no heads up notifications from any of the installed apps. Is there another hidden setting somewhere that I need to enable in order to get this working? I really don't want to download another app if this should be working as standard. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I was going to buy this: Amazon link But I first want to make sure that I can still connect to the internet (through WiFi router) if I am using this. I do not want to route my phone. Thanks.

Assign physical camera button to another app
Is there a way to assign the physical camera button to a camera-app other than the default camera app? So, if the camera button is pressed, a specific app should start up. If possible, it should also work in lock screen, and without rooting the device.

I plugged in my headphones this morning, which were working fine yesterday, and went to try and watch a video only for there to be no sound. But all notifications and click events seem to be making sound as usual. And only certain apps seem to be not making sound. Thinking it was possibly a bug in YouTube, I tried running other apps: - Spotify: no sound - Google calendar notification :**full sound** - Hearthstone, a game : no sound - Analogue Synthesiser emulator: **full sound** - ZType, a game: **full sound** - Shadowrun returns, a game: no sound - BBC iPlayer: no sound - Sony Xperia Podcast app: no sound - Pointless, a game: no sound. I've yet to test with other headphones. But have tried a restart and tried double checking the volume control advanced settings. Any idea what the reason is? If it was all sounds or only loud sounds it would be simple, but it's not, which is what confuses me. *further testing* After I got to a desktop PC did some further tests: - tested same sources with a different set of headphones, same result. - tested the original set on the desktop PC, produce sound from all sources no problem. - Set phone to safe mode to see if it would be an app which has a damaging bug after update (as I've set my phone to update when on wifi and charging, so it is plausible) the behaviour was the same.

It does not give any information as it is always on, so it is just annoying. - The icon is not an option in Display / System Icons - Any other Xperia (even with same OS 5.1.1) does not have it, including this one before the service - in build.prop it is turned off by ro.nfc.icon.enable=false - NFC should be on, I use it, but the icon should be hidden like it was, because there is no info in showing it and clutter the status bar Stock (unrooted) Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Android 5.1.1 screenshot
