I'm fighting with macOS over Epson EH-TW450 projector color settings. When I go to Settings → Displays → Display Settings → Colour Profile → Projector..., I get a nice panel for adjusting the projector gamma and white balance: projector color settings The problem is, after I move the slider up, which makes everything brighter (good!), the projector brightness smoothly goes down to the original level over the next few seconds. The slider stays up, but the brightness isn't the same. When I click the slider again (without moving it), the display becomes brighter again, but again only for a while. How do I make my Mac remember this setting? I also tried various color profiles from the list, but none of them gives me the brightness I want and I also didn't find a way to control the gamma manually. And my projector has no brightness/gamma setting either :( I'm using macOS Monterey 12.4.

"Fake" Full-screening a browser window (with no edges) so it doesn't take priority & can have other things full-screened over it?

I'm running a stage show using a projector & Q-lab, and am looking for this solution. On the projector, I need a browser window full-screened with NO visible edges. The window has interactable elements, needs to remain the "baseline", and can't be seen being minimized. BUT, we have brief moments where I need to have Qlab project a video over top, and then back to the browser again. When the browser is in a window, this works flawlessly. When the browser is ctrl-option-F full-screened, the video won't overtake it and doesn't display. The best app I can find still has edges + a bar at the top. I've considered using a secondary zoom-in program to remove this, but it costs $50 and is an extra step I don't want our tech person to deal with. So- Any leads on an app or code that would "fake" a completely full-screen browser window on Mac? Thank you!

My aim is to deliver a conference to people present in the lecture room and also to those attending from home; all this at the same time. I am on Ipad 6th generation - iOS 14.2 Using the Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapter and HDMI, it is apparently not possible to simultaneously project through a beamer and share the screen for people at home. I deduce that the direct connection with an HDMI cable already uses AirPlay and this thus hinders the possibility for screen sharing. The use of third party apps, such as SmartMirror TV & Device app, is not an option for me since I can't share the same network. I was just wondering whether: - using **HDMI** is definetely not doable - using a **VGA** connection (through an Apple Lightning to VGA Adapter) could solve the problem, allowing simultaneous projection in lecture room and broadcast for students at home.

I've never attached a projector to my Mac, so I don't know just how good the really good ones can be. I'm a graphic designer who used to use a 27 inch iMac but now works on a laptop most of the time. I'd occasionally like to see my screen at a larger size with enough detail to be pleasant to use—no need for extreme HD. How would a good projector go at mirroring my laptop screen onto a flat surface? I'm wondering if there's a reason that projectors aren't touted as an alternative to a secondary screen...this concept doesn't appear anywhere I've looked online. If someone is doing this I would like to know specific projector models that you are happy with to create a secondary display for your Mac. How bright would it need to be to show up in the daytime? I'm interested to know people's experiences with the number of lumens needed for having a really clear daytime picture. I've researched this but am still unsure. I'm aware that it may possibly be cheaper to buy a secondary screen, but the portability of a projector would be a big plus if the display quality was good enough (accurate colour, good resolution). Also, will the projector echo the exact screen colour of my laptop? So if nightshift is on, will the projected image show that yellowing or will it be bright white?

This is probably one of those questions with a really easy answer but either I'm not phrasing it right or there isn't a way to do what I'm wanting. At my church, we occasionally play videos from a MacBook Pro or our new 2019 iMac. The video pipes out to the projector just fine, everything works fine. The issue is when a video needs to be played or paused 300 people can see the mouse move over the Quicktime player's play/pause button. This seems very amateur hour but for the life of me I can't figure out how to play and pause a video in the booth without the buttons showing up on the projector screen. I feel like I saw a video on how do do this years ago, but I haven't been able to figure it out. Can this be done? Thanks!

iMac 2019 and Denon AV receiver
I have problems with connecting my iMac (2019 Retina 4k 21.5po 4096-by-2304 resolution, MacOS Catalina 10.15.4) on my Denon AV Receiver (AVR) s750SH and Epson 1450 projector. I have problems with connecting my iMac (2019 Retina 4k 21.5po 4096-by-2304 resolution, MacOS Catalina 10.15.4) on my Denon AV Receiver (AVR) s750SH and Epson 1450 projector. To make it clear, input comes from the iMac to the AVR, then AVR outputs to the projector and then projector displays images. I have no problem with input sources other than my iMac (DVD player, PC, or cable/sat). I m not sure where the problem is coming from, but I suspect it may be between Denon AVR and iMac. Here is the description of my installation: My AVR s750SH is connected to an Epson 1450 projector. My iMac computer is connected to AVR by an HDMI wire (ultra HD 48 Gbps compatible) through an USB C to HDMI adapter (4K 30Hz). The adapter is plugged in the Thunderbolt 3 of the iMac (since there is no HDMI port on the iMac). The HDMI cable is plugged in input connector reffered as "media player" of the AVR. The problem is that when I select the "media player" channel of the AVR to display the image coming from my iMac, the image of my iMac screen appears but is "on and off", like if there was a signal problem. The 4k Signal Format setting in the AVR is set to "Enhanced" as recommended. I tried to plug the HDMI cable in other input connectors of the AVR s750SH, but it was the same problem. I also tried to unplug the HDMI cable of the AVR and re-plugged it on another monitor, in order to check if there could be something wrong with the HDMI cable and the USB C to HDMI Adapter, the result is that is absolutely no problem on this monitor. (NB : I have not tried to connect the HDMI from the iMac to the Epson 1450 projector, it is a bit tricky to do because the projector is mounted on the ceiling.) Would you have any recommendation to fix that? Thanks

I upgraded my *MacOS* to *10.15.1* which is the **MacOS Catalina**. Before this I was able to use our **Epson EX7235 Projector**. But when it was upgraded it no longer works. Thus I downloaded new driver for the Catalina version. For a month there was none but lately they already have one. So, I was happy to install it. The installation was very easy however the problem is only the screensaver is showing and not my actual screen. I search online and most of the advice is to go *System Preferences* then *Display* and then check the **Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available** which of course I did. However, it still did not work. So, uninstalled again the latest driver installer and re-install again but with the same result. Hoping to hear similar problem as mine with solutions.

I frequently give academic conference presentations, using PDF-based slides. Typically, a projector with HDMI input is available. Currently, I usually connect it to my MacBook as mirrored display, and advance the slides from the MacBook keyboard. **It would be nice to be able to run the presentation wirelessly from my iPad/iPhone, so I can walk around freely while still being able to (a) advance the slides, and (b) glance at the slides without turning away from the audience. Is there any way to achieve this?** Detailed requirements/desirables are spelled out below, but I guess they’re pretty common for conference presenters with Apple devices. I’ve found several similar existing questions, such as https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/41955/how-to-display-iphone-ios-device-on-projector and https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/10360/how-to-show-ios-screen-on-a-projector-like-steve-jobs-did-on-his-keynotes , but they are all rather old and their answers don’t fit this use-case, as far as I can see. ### Requirements/desirables: - Projector hardware is totally out of my control; all I can rely on is a projector with HDMI input (sometimes VGA on older projectors). - Usually there’s a local Wi-Fi network, often eduroam-based, but the details and quality vary. So a solution using Wi-Fi is OK if it works reliably on most Wi-Fi setups (at least including eduroam) without specific configuration, but not if it needs detailed re-configuration depending on the network. - Usually there are just a few minutes available to connect and test the setup at the venue before the talk. - I don’t want a wired connection from the iPad to any larger-than-pocket-sized device (since the point is to allow free movement). - I’d like the iPad to show the current state of the projection (not necessarily exact mirroring, it’s fine if there’s e.g. a keyboard overlay), and to control the projection, i.e. advance/backtrack through slides. - The solution must work for PDF-based slides, or at least something that PDFs can easily be converted to. (Working for other formats, e.g. Keynote, would be great but isn’t essential.) - Ideally, a solution should allow full use of the projector display whatever its aspect ratio (i.e. if projector is widescreen, widescreen slides shouldn’t get vertically letterboxed down to the iPad screen which in turn gets horizontally letterboxed to the projector). ### Flexibility: - I’m quite happy to buy an adaptor or similar small peripheral, or a paid app, if these provide a good solution. - I’m happy to use my MacBook as a go-between. - I don’t mind whether the slideshow is run from the iPad (and mirrored to the projector, possibly via MacBook), or run from the MacBook (and mirrored + controlled from the iPad). - A solution that works with either an iPhone or an iPad would be ideal; but if it works with just one of these, that’s fine. - Frame challenges are welcome! ### What I’ve tried so far: - AirPlay from iPad to [Reflector](https://www.airsquirrels.com/reflector) on the MacBook. Pretty good, with one serious caveat: connection seems to break easily if the Wi-Fi is at all spotty. (Less significantly, since it goes via mirroring the iPad screen, one can’t use full width of widescreen projector.) Good enough to use at venues with very reliable Wi-Fi. - Screen sharing from MacBook to iPad, using [Mocha VNC](https://mochasoft.dk/iphone_vnc_help2/help.htm) . Seems to require specific per-network configuration for connecting to the MacBook, and on the one eduroam network I tried, I couldn’t get it to work. There are multiple ways to set up the VNC connection, though, so perhaps there’s a more robust approach I haven’t found. - Bluetooth remote, controlling MacBook directly, not using iPad: mentioning this as an example “frame challenge” solution. Excellent in most ways, but doesn’t display the slides on the portable device.

I have looked and looked and whilst I can find many suggestions for my issue I cannot find a solution, not one that seems to work (in software). I have two projectors (or monitors) connected to my Macbook. Both same resolution, etc. I want to have a Keynote that stretches over both displays with the notes on my laptop. So my thought was to disable spaces, create a presentation that is the width of the two monitors combined and hope it would stretch over. Nope. So with my understanding the only way to do this is to trick the OS into thinking the two projectors/monitors are actually one. So there is then the Matrox DualHead2Go. However that is expensive and for the amount I will use it I couldn't justify the cost. Thus I was wondering, and I have looked, is there a Virtual Monitor Driver? Something that will do the same just in software? I did find two on GitHub but over 4 years old and will not work on anything > Mac OS 10.9. Any suggestions?

In giving presentations from my MacBook Pro on an Epson Data Projector (VGA connection), there is I have invariably found a decrease in the display dimensions. Initially only part of the previous screen area shows, but can be reset to fill the smaller screen. Normally — for example with a PowerPoint presentation — this smaller size is OK, but today I was accessing one of my websites directly from the laptop to illustrate its features in my seminar. The problem was that I had written the HTML/CSS so that the site was ‘responsive’, and one aspect of this responsiveness was that certain features were not shown at the viewport size of mobile devices. The viewport matched the dimensions I had set in the stylesheet for the iPad and I ended up not being able to demonstrate some of the features. Failing all else I could record and show a movie or temporarily change the stylesheet, but my question is whether there is any way of changing the resolution of the data projector display from my Mac.

Is it possible to connect to a regular projector via network to present the screen? I have a Windows machine, and it quite simply can be done there. I just enter the IP address of the projector and that's it. And I was really surprised when I couldn't find it on my MBP. It feels like a basic functionality, it should be there, but I can't find it. That's so weird, especially when Apple releases the new MBP (or that MacBook with only one USB-C) without any video-port available, implying we should be "*wireless*". Well, I would like to, but can I really?

I have a new 2012 MacBook Air (just a week old). Today I tried to connect to an external LCD projector, using a mini-DisplayPort-to-VGA adaptor, to project my slides. Something went wrong and I was unable to project. My Mac detected the external projector, and I was able to mirror my main display, but nothing showed up on the LCD projector, despite trying two different mini-DisplayPort-to-VGA dongles. In the end, I was able to successfully project from a different, older Mac using one of those dongles, so I don't think the dongle is broken. What should be the troubleshooting procedure, if this happens again? Does the new 2012 Air require any sort of different procedure or equipment for mirroring your display onto an external projector?
