Rotate Always On Display 90° On WearOS?
I've been playing with some ADB `settings put` commands on one of my WearOS watches (Galaxy Watch 7, WearOS 5, OneUI 6), to customize things a bit beyond what the settings app usually allows, and I've come across an odd issue: I wear my watches on the inside of my wrist and prefer them oriented vert...
I've been playing with some ADB settings put commands on one of my WearOS watches (Galaxy Watch 7, WearOS 5, OneUI 6), to customize things a bit beyond what the settings app usually allows, and I've come across an odd issue: I wear my watches on the inside of my wrist and prefer them oriented vertically (90° from stock setting, WearOS's "landscape" orientation internally). I have been able to use ADB to rotate the whole system to this 90° angle, and it's great. However, when the ambient mode for Always On Display kicks in, while the rotation is preserved for a moment when the screen first dims, after about two seconds the AOD ambient screen returns to stock 0° ("portrait") orientation. As soon as I tap the screen to wake the device from ambient mode, the rotation returns to 90°, and gestures (swipe up for app tray, down for QS, etc.) are all oriented to that 90° rotation even when the screen is in ambient mode. I know it is not the watch face itself, because I have tried multiple and they all do this, but the issue is not present when using the stock 180° rotation mode (it will not flip back to 0° when ambient). While reading about the issue I found some people discussing performing a similar trick on WearOS 3 and they stated the AOD/ambient mode *stayed* rotated at 90°... I am not sure if this is something specific to Samsung OneUI versions of WearOS so I did a little digging with adb shell pm list packages and it seems like Samsung's implementation of AOD/ambient is named com.samsung.android.watch.watchface.perpetual. Is anyone aware of what might be causing this glitch, or does anyone by chance know of a way (ADB or otherwise) to force an individual specific app to a particular orientation so I can try resolving this? If native methods won't work, does anyone have any thoughts about the potential to mod this apk to change it's default orientation in it's properties?

## History ## I don't know how many site visitors read user profiles, so I'm posting this little bit before I get to my actual question, so that the question makes sense. I was born with Cerebral Palsy . If WikiPedia isn't your preferred site for medical conditions, feel free to search your preferred medical advice site. They'll all tell you pretty much the same thing. That said, I'm classified as a **spastic tri-plegic** (tight muscles affecting 3 limbs). In my case, it's both legs and my right arm. Read On.... ## Question ## Since I cannot walk, and am confined to an electric chair, I'd like to find a wearable or health tracker compatible with a Google Pixel 9 XL. I recently switched from a Samsung Galaxy A-315. With that I had a Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 that I never setup. Not only do I feel I've wasted about $400 US, as that watch is just sitting, but I'd love to use that watch or Google's version as a health monitoring tool since I'm nearly 50. I'm stuck at an impasse here. It was my impression that the main monitoring functions were done through the step counter. 1. Since I can't walk, and sit in a chair 10 to 12 hours a day, the watch behaves as follows: - The Heart monitor incorrectly reports me as idle (i.e., I sit too much. While this is true, I'm still active). - The step counter stays at zero, even though I roll nearly a mile a day while working. - I wasn't able to "test" the other apps as I kind of gave up when I realized the devices are tracking something I can't do. The only one that may work properly is the sleep monitor, but again not tested. 2. Do any readers know of any wearables or tracker type devices that are specifically made for disabled people. - Every time I think about Googling Electric chair + Wearables, I cringe at the thought of how many results I might get for something like a Continuous Glucose Monitor and give up for fear of wading through useless results - Is there a way to tell the wearable device that you cannot walk, so that you're monitored differently? I don't think this is specific to only Android based wearables but since I have an Android based phone, I thought I would post here.

I did a factory reset on both my phone, and my smartwatch, which has now left me with a few problems, and I'm hoping someone can assist me in resolving them, or help me cope with the agony :( The watch is a Moto 360 Sport running Wear 1.5. The phone is a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with Android 6.0.1. The first problem is the button on my watch, normally, you'd press it to exit an app or switch to/from ambient mode. But currently, it only turns my screen on and opens the app drawer when held down. It does not turn off my screen or take me back to the previous activity like it did prior to the reset. It's not a faulty button, if it was, it would not have worked at all. It's never behaved like that and it's not the first time I did a factory reset on my watch. My watch doesn't inform me of incoming calls anymore either. Normally it would've shown the incoming call and allowed me to answer, but now it's just not doing anything when I receive a call, so I tend to miss them when my phone is on silent, which is pretty much all the time since I got the watch. Another problem is that my WiFi and Bluetooth menu items are missing, and when I googled the issue, someone had similar problems with an iPhone but according to that forum post, it's an iPhone-only issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/moto360/comments/3ousbu/wifi_settings_missing/ The other issue is my Google Play Music app. Normally it would've shown a card on my wear device during playback that allows me to pause and play, and when opened, it allowed skipping, etc. But currently, a card only appears when I pause the playback, and when I open that card, it's not the same interface that I had prior to the reset, but it's the same version of the app though. Hopefully, someone has experienced and resolved these issues before and can point me in the right direction.

Just got a Fossil Q Founder smartwatch. Currently, it is showing Fahrenheit. How do I change the default weather app to use Celsius? I've changed literally every single setting I can think of. I have used the Fossil app to change the watch faces to show the temperature in Celsius. I have Google Now cards configured to show in Celsius. I even tried downloading the Google News and Weather app and changing the temperature units used there. I checked every settings menu I could find in both the Android Wear app and the Fossil app. Nothing. Rocking a Nexus 6P. Everything is the latest. Multiple Google search results have pointed to Google Now weather card settings as the place to change the units in the Android Wear app, but as I mentioned above, I already have those set since before I even had the watch. I tried changing to Fahrenheit and back to Celsius, but still no luck. I've tried restarting the watch and my phone a million times, but also had no luck getting the settings to take on my watch. Can someone please help? It doesn't help that Google has the worst support imaginable. I would bet my life savings that if I called them for support, they would tell me to do a factory reset without even attempting to understand that actual issue.

I'm trying to get hold of one specific app: [LV Watch Faces 2](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sfeir.lvmh.watchface2) . I cannot find this anywhere. It's possible to extract it from an LV Wear OS watch, but I don't have them. I got an idea, maybe it's possible to change the device name/model on the Wear OS emulator for an app to appear on the emulator's Google Play Store. I tried changing build.prop that's located in C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk\system-images\android-28\android-wear\x86, but it seems like it didn't work (it shows the same default name sdk_gwear_x86)in the Settings) Settings Could anyone help with changing Wear OS's AVD build properties or generally suggest - does this idea make sense (changing those properties for having hardware limited store apps to appear).

I have a Garmin Fenix 5 connected to a Pixel XL. On the Fenix 5, the calendar widget shows a weather forecast as an all day event. This is redundant (there is already a weather widget on the Garmin), and unwelcome (it clutters the calendar view and makes it less useful). These Forecast "events" do not show up in the calendar app on my phone. Where are they coming from and how can I remove them? _Context and what I have tried_: I have two cloud accounts in android account manager with calendars: google account (personal) and office365/exchange account (work). I have tried hiding all calendars from the calendar app settings (including the "Holidays" and "Birthdays" under "Other" and "Events from Gmail"), the result was that _no_ events are shown on the phone, and _only_ the mysterious forecast events are seen on the watch. I have gone to each calendar on both google and office 365 via the web, there is no forecast events shown. I have explored for relevant settings for both via the web sites, and outlook for mac (for o365). In office365, there is an option to show a weather forecast event, but I have turned it off for all calendars, with no result. I also uninstalled the google "news and weather" app and do not have any other weather app installed except google assistant. One last data point: the forcast is for a location I lived previously, before I even got my Garmin. How can a calendar event to show on the smart watch but not the calendar app?

I have a Moto 360. I get a card saying there's a system update. I open the update and tell it OK to install. I get the red/blue/yellow/green spinning dots and a progress bar. When the progress bar reaches approximately 30%, the dots disappear. The green Android robot appears. He has a hatch in his stomach area, and a red triangular icon with an exclamation point inside of it appears. The watch stays like this until the battery dies (unless I hold the physical button until the watch shuts off). I can then reboot back to normal, but after a few hours (or sometimes minutes) the system update card will appear again and the whole cycle starts over. What is causing the system update to fail? Are there any debugging steps I can perform? When I go to Settings, my current software version is 4.4W.1. I have tried doing factory resets twice and then updating, but the issue persists. Update-I got in touch with Motorola support. They had me reset the watch and try updating. When that didn't work, they decided to replace my watch. They'll be shipping me a new one.

Okay, so I bought a Misfit Vapor X. It was brand new, and worked for about an hour when it updated itself. Now, it won't boot and goes into a boot loop when I try. It will buzz, then show the Misfit logo for about ten seconds, and repeat the process. I pressed the main button and the bottom button and got the watch to go into the recovery screen. From there, I can choose: - **START** - **Shipping Mode** - **Restart bootloader** - **Recovery mode** - **Power Off** **START** goes into the boot loop **Shipping Mode** gives me a screen of red letters that show this: SHIPPING MODE PPG Fail or Timeout! LED1 3216, LED2 3832 IR 9003 **Recovery Mode** goes back into the boot loop **Power Off** doesn't, and instead goes to the boot loop. I googled the above cryptic message without any useful result. I can't get ADB to see the watch (I'm not an expert, so I may not be doing that right...)
