I've installed Android 4.1.2 on the Samsung Galaxy S Advance. I cope with a problem that more Android users have to deal with. The well-known android.process.acore force-closing (FC) or something similar. The constantly appearing FC notifications would be caused by your crashing contact list. However, I cannot find a solution for this anywhere while many users have this problem. It is really annoying when you have to open WhatsApp 3 times because the whole system freezes. I've tried the options they give in [force-close tag-wiki](https://android.stackexchange.com/tags/force-close/info) , but rebooting and resetting obviously wouldn't help, and deleting contacts isn't the solution. When I really can't use those FCs at the moment, I just temporarily freeze my contact list, but it is such a hassle to do every time. I also tried to avoid the FC, but logcat is turned off and it doesn't help. Isn't there a way to hide those notifications?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S Advance and when I try sending an SMS message to someone, I have to search through all my GMail contacts that for some reasons appear on the app along with my phone contacts. I don't send mails through the message app and most of my GMail contacts are people who I sent just one e-mail in my entire life. The Sync and Account settings don't let me turn off Contact sync, just remove the GMail account entirely, and there is no menu in the messaging app that lets me hide the GMail contacts. Is there any way to make the messaging app only show the contacts I have on my phone?

I have a problem with a custom rom, i have a galaxy s advance, which isn't supported by cyanogen mod. Maclaw has created kitkat roms for some devices which aren't suported by cyanogen. I now have his kitkat 4.4.4 rom running. Unfortunately maclaw hasn't got a forum. (they are setting up one but it isn't launched yet) So i decided to ask here, since you guys have knowledge about pretty much everything, regarding this subject. Maybe anyone else could point out what the possible cause of this problem could be. In my case, the phone restarts after a while, but only when the device is on battery, and when the screen is locked. Everything works perfectly when it's on charger and/or unlocked. Is this a common problem or does it have a well known cause? Thanks in advance for all your efforts.

It is not a software bug because I just accidentally teared a flex cable partially.. I hope it's possible, and if not, what would be the best choice for an on-screen buttons app? Thanks for the help. EDIT: Like changing key values in /system/usr/layout/generic.kl or something. It's possible to disable them there, so maybe it's possible to change their values or would that mess up my phone? 2nd EDIT: I switched the actions 'BACK'and 'MENU' from key values 139 and 158 in Generic.kl and now the menu-key functions as back-key.. question solved within half an hour.. better do some more research next time haha

Any advice please ? thank you

So, i got a few questions i should ensure before i done something stupid: * if i install something from the mentioned above, shall i lose my guarantee/licenses? * if i decide to install the software, should i perform some rooting of the device or something? * if i do decide to install the software, what's the best one which shall not slow down my device (as i noted android 2.3.6 to be slow) * could i use ICS update and shall it slow down my device or not?

I couldn't find any topic related to this. If there is one, please flag to delete. There is problem with lock button that it doesn't lock your screen even when you setted in settings to lock the screen for security. Sometimes it happens that if you click on this button and immediately click again to unlock, last screen / activity of application is shown again without lock screen. Step to reproduce 1. Turn on security screen in settings 2. Open your app 3. Click lock button 4. Click fast lock button again 5. Screen of your app is visible as it was, instead of there should be lock screen How can I fix this bug? Did someone find this problem before? ------ Bug found on device: GT-I9070 v 2.3.6 ------ I suspect that there is a problem with transition. In my private app I use custom transition by context.overridePendingTransition(R.layout.fadein, R.layout.fadeout);. Of course there is no connection between system android custom app. This bug is hard to reproduce. Sometimes you see few times in row and sometimes its impossible..

How to root a Samsung I9070 Galaxy S Advance/S II Lite?
What are the steps to root this phone? As I understand, Samsung has been using an internal counter that will void your guarantee if you install a custom kernel, I'd like to avoid that.
