I'm trying to locate the zip file that contains the OTA update for my Droid Bionic. Right now, its failing to update, and every time it fails it deletes the file and I need to re-download it (takes a long time). I was hoping to save off the update so I could try a few things on my phone and try the update. I read online its somewhere in a /cache directory, however I dont see anything at all when I mount it to the PC and do a search for cache or even "*.zip". Does anyone know how I can find the zip file? Maybe I need to change the PC settings or something to search for it (I have changed the folder settings to view hidden files and system files).

I believe this has only happened when the phone has been locked with the screen off when the call arrived.
I don't receive a large number of calls on this device, so I don't have a very large sample size, but it probably happens less than 1 time in 20. The most recent was within a few hours of rebooting the phone, so I don't think it is due to memory consumption by another app, etc.

Is there any resolution to this? Is this true for other phones as well? It doesn't matter what OS version, it's the hardware connection itself.

On her phone, she first has to swipe-unlock to get to the PIN screen, which means her first screen has lock widgets on it.
On my phone, I only see the PIN screen. This means I don't have any lock widgets, which is disappointing. I have to unlock my phone in order to mess with music that is playing.
My question is: is this an ICS issue or is there a setting I missed that lets me see the lock screen (with widgets) before the PIN screen?

This wasn't always the case but I didn't notice it for a while and am not sure what might be causing it. Maybe a background app?
Works normally when not plugged in.

Why does the 3G connection drop issue happen on all Verizon 4G LTE handsets?

OK, after having reviewed the Samsung DROID Charge, reviewing and owning a DROID BIONIC, and hearing from many Thunderbolt users, it seems like one problem is common to all Verizon 4G handsets: a dropping 3G data connection. So far, I've observed the following:
My BIONIC often refuses to get a 3G data connection back when switching from Wi-Fi or 4G back to 3G. If I switch to Airplane Mode and back, sometimes I'll get the 3G connection back, sometimes I won't. In the About Phone -> Status menu, it says the mobile data network is "connecting." Sometimes I end up having to reboot.
Additionally, when attempting to use the phone in CDMA-only mode, the phone seems to decide to drop its 3G connection at random and refuse to get it back - even on reboot the phone is slow to acquire signal. I noticed a similar problem on the DROID Charge.
Is there any theory as to why this is happening? Do all Verizon's LTE phones share a common chipset model? Because it sounds to me like whoever makes the chipset is doing a real bang-up job of shipping phones with near-defective radios or radio firmware. As it appears to happen across **three different manufacturers**, the buck falls on Verizon and their LTE chip partner. I'm frankly getting very, very annoyed with this problem and think it needs some public exposure with good empirical evidence that it happens on all LTE handsets on Verizon.
So, I'm asking for your assistance in that regard as well. Leave a comment about your experiences with Verizon's LTE phones and connection drop issues, with as much detail as possible. Of course, the **answer** I'm looking for here is as to *why* this is happening, but I think this is going to be a fairly long ongoing investigation. If you've found a method of fixing or working around this issue on your Android phone, please leave that an an answer as well!

Can I use tasker to turn LTE/4G mode on/off on my Droid Bionic?
I'd like to turn LTE on while I'm at work and off at home; I have the appropriate profiles, but I can't find an appropriate action. Is this something that could be done with an intent?

Periodically (a few times a week), my Droid Bionic (stock Gingerbread 2.3.4) will lose access to all data services (Wifi, 3G/4G) for no apparent reason. The only sure way out seems to be powering the phone off and restarting it, although the last time I tried using Sleep instead of power off it did reset. When it goes out, the only icon in the notification area is the signal strength "bars" area, which goes white. No 3G/4GLTE, or Wifi icon is present.
How do I determine if this is a Gingerbread issue or a hardware issue with my phone?

Has anyone found out why some BIONICs won't charge fully on non-BIONIC wall chargers?

I know the BIONIC's battery is a 3.8v, and my chargers are all 3.7, but the voltage difference doesn't seem large enough to cause a problem. Is is possible the BIONIC can read the difference in the voltage, even if it is small, and is coded not to fully charge on these non-Moto chargers?
Both HTC chargers I've tried were 200mA. It seems maybe the amperage is too low to charge the phone. I'll try and find a higher power one to test.

Can I tether my Macbook (Lion) to my Verizon Droid Bionic using either USB or WiFi?
I'm trying to use the Verizon tethering app (and have tethering enabled on my Verizon account). My MacBook sees the hotspot, but does not connect successfully. I'm using WPA mode. The phone sees the Mac, but apparently never issues an IP address.
