Pandora starts playing, un-prompted, in middle of the night
Samsung GALAXY S-6 with operating system 6.0.1. I use the sleep function on Pandora and it works well. However, the application starts unprompted at random times during the night. Not good, solution?

Why does Pandora start automatically at random?

My relatives and now I too have an issue with Pandora starting automatically at random. One has a Samsung Galaxy S20, another has a Motorola, and I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
On all three phones, at random times of the day/night, the app will automatically start playing music. Usually happens when charging, but not always. Just happened now with it in my phone pouch on my hip. It also happened the last 2 nights around 4 am, waking me up. And the occurrence for all three of us is getting more frequent. One already uninstalled the app, and another is going to uninstall it too. I have been waiting patiently for a fix, but I'm about to give up on it as well. Can't afford for it to wake me up at 4 am all the time.
When this happens, the phone says there are no running apps and thus I can't close it or stop it normally. I have to "force stop" the app every time. The Bluetooth is turned off on my phone, but I can't say for sure about the others.
We have tried removing it and re-downloading a fresh start, didn't help. We have tried powering off the phone for 15 minutes, didn't help. We have searched through forums and found many people with the same issue, but no one has a fix or even an acknowledgment of an issue that's being worked on.

How to keep Pandora / Slacker music apps continue to play music after the display goes dark?

I'm running android 4.4.2. When I play music via the Pandora or Slacker apps, it works fine. But if I stop using the phone while its playing, then the music stops playing once the current song ends.
So if a song is already playing when the screen goes dark, it will keep playing, but once it ends, it doesn't fetch the next song.
If I keep my display active, then the songs keep playing without any problem.
My research in this indicates that this is an issue with the wifi being cut off once the phone is inactive, which prevents the app from getting the next song. But I already have the setting 'Keep wifi on during sleep' set to 'always', but it has no effect.
Any ideas?

How can I keep screen on ONLY while music is playing?

I drive typically 300+miles a day and my phone works both as my GPS and my media player through my work trucks AUX port. I drive to a lot of the same places so after awhile the GPS isn't kept on top and just stays running in the background to warn me if there's a faster route than usual due to accidents or traffic. Thus I'd rather let Google Maps run in the background and have Pandora on screen to make it easy to up and down vote songs without anything more than a quick glance, I drive a large truck so the whole picking up my phone, turning the screen on, entering my pin, etc is not a valid solution to me. Yet if Google Maps isn't on screen the screen will eventually dim and turn off. Does anyone know of an app or workaround that would keep the screen on while Pandora is running? Maybe something with extra features such as only if Pandora is running and the phone is charging. I'm aware of the "Keep screen on while charging" option but thanks to me having a crappy Samsung (Samsung Galaxy S5, Android 6.0.1) this means when my phone is finished charging at night the screen turns on and stays on waking me up. My only request is please only give valid answers, no "Sorry not possible.", "Don't mess with your phone while driving.", "Just deal with the screen turning on at night.", etc.

New phone, LG V20 from T-mobile. Android Nougat (7.0 right now). Latest Pandora app.
The problem first manifested when I expected Pandora to wake me the next morning. It didn't. Checking my phone the Snooze/Stop circle buttons were there on the lock screen as if Pandora was running, but there was no music or even the tone Pandora plays when it can't access Internet.
Later, using Pandora during the day I found that if I'd used Pandora closed it (either by pressing the X in the notification or just by leaving it alone and paused long enough the OS closed it) and then opened it several hours later or the next day, the app would begin loading but would not progress beyond the splash screen.
I have removed the app and reinstalled. I have cleared cache/data.
I have not reset the phone.
Silent hours are set up but not for alarms and they stop before the alarm goes off.
**Update 1**
I set the phone Clock app alarm for the same time as the Pandora alarm. The phone alarm will go off briefly, then Pandora will start playing music, then once the first song is done on Pandora the phone's alarm cuts over Pandora and starts sounding again.
*Odd.*
I also changed Quiet Hours so they end 5 minutes before the alarm goes off (Alarms are allowed to sound through Quiet Hours already).
Yesterday I completed a full remove/reinstall of Pandora but forgot to re-enable the Pandora alarm. I'll do more testing today.
Future steps involve a full wipe/reset of the phone (don't really want to do this for another month though, after I've got the full unlock from TMobile completed).
**Update 2**
I contacted Pandora support. The steps they took me through were:
- Update Pandora App to latest version.
- Disable any battery saver or task manager. Android Nougat has a built-in Battery Optimzations function, and the ability to allow specific apps to ignore the optimizations. I enabled ignoring optimizations for the Pandora App.
- Clear data.
- Verify app is installed in local memory (not external/storage card).
- Switch between normal and HQ audio (this is a data network-specific setting, and I'm using home wireless, but still switched it).
- Uninstall and reinstall.
After completing all these without improvement or resolution, Pandora support asked for details of my phone and software and forwarded this to the engineering team.
Two days later (Monday this week) the Pandora alarm worked perfectly, and again Tuesday. The phone had been running for perhaps 5-7 days this point without a restart.
Wednesday morning the issues reoccurred. The Alarm interface loaded on the lock screen but no sounds playing. Thursday was the same, and battery usage was very high that morning with Android Operating System using the lion's share. I restarted the phone Thursday, and this morning there was also no alarm.
I would advise you to report your own issues to Pandora support so they'll be more aware of the breadth of the issue.

I see the Episodes button when using the web app in a PC browser, but can't find it anywhere in the Android app (which does behave strangely in how it jumps around sometimes), though I still get the instructions to push the Episodes button. Where is it in the Android app?

I have this problem constantly when I try browsing the web while listening to music. It doesn't happen on every page, but probably somewhere around 80% of pages will cause my music to stop playing. This happens with both streaming music via the Pandora app, and when I'm playing mp3s from my SD card through the native music player app. Does anyone know of a setting, either in Firefox, one of the other apps, or universally in the Android settings, that can stop this from happening?
This is an [LG Optimus F3Q](http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_f3q-5998.php) running 4.1.2.

I have a VirginMobile Motorola Triumph, stock but rooted.
I listen to music with both Pandora and Google's Play Music app.
When listening to music, the volume has two modes, 'soft', in which all the way down is too quiet and all the way up is too loud, exactly as it should be. The other setting is loud - just loud. The first click of 'loud' is enough to hurt my ears.
I can change the volume from 'loud' to 'soft' by playing with the Ring or Alarm volumes (not Media). They don't have to change, but they have to be altered briefly to 'reset' it back to 'soft'. Furthurmore, if I receive a notification, text, call, or any other sort of message, the volume becomes 'soft' again.
While listening on 'soft', if the song finishes and naturally continues to the next, the volume will jump to 'loud'. There are other occasions where it does this as well, but I haven't figured out exactly what they are.
-----
However, when Pandora goes to the next song (either because I skipped, down-thumbed, or just finished the song), the volume gets really loud. It doubles in volume, if not more!
The weirdest part though is that none of the volume sliders (anywhere!) have changed. Not one. Furthermore, altering the Media volume (still on 1st click), has no effect other than to make it even louder. However, if I alter (or even touch) the Ringer or Notification volumes, the song volume drops to where it was.
I'm tired of changing my volume between every song. I'm willing to talk to whomever (Motorola, Pandora, Google, etc) in pursuit of a fix. How can I address this?

While streaming music with the Pandora application (on the high quality setting) on a Galaxy Nexus over Verizon 4G, after any given time period the phone will completely shut down. This happens at unpredictable times. The phone doesn't get heated and no data/download limits are reached. I'm fairly certain this is a bug with the Pandora app on ICS or could be ICS in general, as it is not experienced during any other data streaming.
- Has anyone experienced this random shut down while streaming with Pandora on their device, and if so..
- Is there remedy for this type of bug?
