The Babbel language learning app doesn't play sounds anymore; this used
to work for me for a while but now doesn't. Sounds are the central
feature of the app which makes it superior to the PC web application, so
this is very important for me. The Babbel support was not able to help me.
System information:
* Babbel app, version 5.2.1
* Android version 4.0.4
* Device Sony LT22i (Xperia P)
* Internal storage: 769MB free, total 1.2GB
What I tried:
* Clear the cache. This helped for a short while but no more.
* As per advice of the Babbel team, I uninstall the Babbels apps; then after a few minutes I re-installed again but nothing change to my sounds problems.
* Restart the device. Like for the cache, it worked again for a short while.
The problem might be related to the size of the lesson, or the amount of speach examples, respectively.
What can I try get the sounds running again? Thank you!

I was trying to root my phone. But unfortunately my phone is bricked. I tried to switch on but failed. Even the notification light is not coming. When I connect it with PC using fast boot mood my PC says to me **USB device not recognized**.
Details on what I did:
* I have downloaded [this file from Mediafire](http://mediafire.com/download.php?0431bxmta44peck)
* I've unzipped it and there was an
.elf
file
* Copied that .elf
file in a folder that I've downloaded from [this link](http://hackmyandroid.com/use-adb-fastboot-commands-without-installing-android-sdk/2479)
* Copied SuperUser [from here](http://downloads.noshufou.netdna-cdn.com/superuser/Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip) to the device's internal storage
* switched off my phone and started the cmd there
* Then executed fastboot flash boot keiran-recovery-st25.elf
That brought up my issue then.

I have Arch linux installed and have installed android-tools(so fastboot and adb commands are available).
Because I had a problem with kingroot I needed to flash the phone to stock.
I had stock firmware downloaded and extracted it to see the sin files inside it.
I flashed partitions using these commands :
fastboot flash system system.sin
fastboot flash userdata userdata.sin
fastboot flash cache cache.sin
fastboot reboot
Now the first two succeeded but the third one failed saying partition not found(guess I don't have cache partition for some reason).
After that I got stuck in a boot loop.
Normally sony Xperia P boots with Sony word and then to Xperia word(which blinks) and then to android but it's stuck in the Sony word.
I tried powering off the phone and flashing the boot partition using this command :
fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
rebooted, the same problem.
I tried to flash FOTAKernel but I don't seem to have this partition.
I tried also
fastboot reboot-bootloader
and then reboot but the same.
I've read the boot-loop wiki, both Safe mode and recovery mode are unreachable.
I would try to flash the other .sin files But I don't know to what partition they belong and google didn't help me to get this information :3 .
So what to do ?
## Update ##
I forgot to mention that I tried to flash .ftf file using FlashTool 0.9.19.10, this tool didn't work, I click the lightning bolt, I chose the Flash mode, I choose the .ftf file(after putting it in ~/.flashtool/firmwares), after clicking ok it tells me to plug my device in fastboot mode.
I click Volumne Up while plugging the device and I see the blue(somewhat purple) Led light on.
I wait and wait and even when Flashtool said "Device connected in fastboot mode" it doesn't do anything but telling me to plug my device :3 .
## Device ##

I unlocked the bootloader of my Xperia P (LT22i) before I could take a backup of the TA partition (which stores DRM keys, IMEI code, etc.)
Now I've read on several XDA threads and other websites that TA can not be backed up after the bootloader has been unlocked. And that once it's unlocked, everything in there is gone.
However, when I used the latest version of [Backup TA](https://github.com/DevShaft/Backup-TA/releases/latest) on my phone, it could detect the presence of and backup the TA partition.
Now I'm not sure if the backup it created is a valid TA backup so is there a way to check its integrity and/or parse the contents of
TA.img
to see if it does contain valid DRM keys and other stuff?
P.S. I tried opening TA.img
in a hex editor and searching for my phone's IMEI number. I found it in the file. I also found references to "marlin" and quite a few X.509 certificates. The uncompressed size of my phone's TA.img
is 512 KB (5,24,288 bytes)
And if it helps, here's the part of the log from Backup TA where it finds and backs up the TA partition:
--- mmcblk0boot0 --- Searching for Operator Identifier...- Searching for Operator Name...- Searching for Rooting Status...- Searching for S1 Boot...- Searching for S1 Loader...- Searching for S1 Hardware Configuration...- Partition found! ======================================= BACKUP TA PARTITION ======================================= 1024+0 records in 1024+0 records out 524288 bytes (512.0KB) copied, 0.030456 seconds, 16.4MB/s ======================================= INTEGRITY CHECK ======================================= OK ======================================= PULL BACKUP FROM SDCARD ======================================= 2437 KB/s (524288 bytes in 0.210s) ======================================= INTEGRITY CHECK ======================================= OK ======================================= PACKAGE BACKUP ======================================= 7-Zip (A) 9.20 Copyright (c) 1999-2010 Igor Pavlov 2010-11-18 Scanning Creating archive ..\backup\TA-backup-20140722.010348.zip Compressing TA.blk Compressing TA.img Compressing TA.md5 Compressing TA.serial Compressing TA.timestamp Compressing TA.version Everything is Ok *** Backup successful. ***

GPS stopped working after root
After rooting my Sony Xperia P, the GPS stopped working. Even Google Maps can't find my current location now. I found this problem when started working on Location API. Is it a common issue and is it resolvable? I tried searching on XDA too, but couldn't find anything about this.

I have an Xperia P with latest update (Build No. 6.2.A.1.100, Android 4.1.2). It's phone app becomes horribly slow as the size of call log increases. Also, whenever there's an incoming call, it usually takes around 4 to 5 secs to respond after the call is accepted. There is a great time lag during dialing too. I tried clearing app data from settings but of no use!
The problem goes away when I clear the call log. Also, the scroll lag disappears while operating in landscape mode.
Does anyone know of any workaround for this? Currently, I'm using Ex-Dialer (the best dialer app I've ever seen from performance perspective) as a replacement for stock dialer (I'm not rooted and stock dialer is still installed in my phone) but I really don't want to use it or any third party app. One of the reason is that the Ex-Dialer contact list doesn't show Facebook thumbnail images for contacts.
Please help!

I've got some nice photos in one folder and their specially cropped versions in another hidden folder (the name starts with a dot).
How can I use the cropped photos from the hidden folder for a wallpaper slideshow? No matter what app I try to use, it doesn't allow me to use the hidden photos. I don't want to make them visible; I don't want duplicated photos in my gallery app.
Is there any way / app that would allow me to use the hidden photos for a wallpaper slideshow without having to make them visible in my gallery app?
