One picture disappeared out of a batch taken

On vacation, we took a lot of portrait photos in a short period of time. We looked at the last picture taken outside, and it came out perfect. We then went inside to take some more. After taking some more, when reviewing various photos, I noticed one photo (not the "perfect" one) had the work "Processing" message at the bottom. I didn't think too much about that, until that evening when reviewing all the photos, and the perfect photo didn't show up. Nor was it synced to Google Photos. The Google Photos app said "2 files remaining to back up" (or similar). Checking the next day, all files processed; no "perfect" photo on phone, nor on Google Photos. I checked my "Trash" folder in Google, the Files app on the phone, and plugged my phone into my computer via USB, and browsed the internal storage of my phone via Windows Explorer. No luck. I checked the "Locked" folder on my phone to see if I somehow had it switched to store in the "Locked" folder and it was not there. Any other possible places to explore? Was this a rare bug I hit? Phone: Google Pixel 8 Pro, Android 14.

Google Camera app is the application responsible for taking photos and recording videos and is only available for Google Pixel smartphone. It offers many great features such as such as HDR+, color enhancement, Super Res Zoom, Night Mode, and much more. This enables users to take amazing photos, even in low-light situations. To use features from Google Camera app on Android smartphones from other vendors, GCam APK Port is created. Google Camera app is a closed source software. How does GCam APK Port have such capability? Google must use its own proprietary technologies for its features. How can other apps access to the technologies? Does Google provide interfaces to use the technologies? I searched the internet and found the following: > GCam APK Port refers to a modified version of the Google Camera app that has been ported to work on non-Pixel devices. These ports are created by developers who modify the original Google Camera app to make it compatible with a wider range of Android smartphones. But I don't understand what these sentences mean. What do they mean?

I am trying to edit the value of a Secure Settings key over ADB with the command: settings put secure camera_double_twist_to_flip_enabled 1 For some unknown reason, the value of this key is 0 and cannot be changed. Because of this, the shake gesture in the Google Camera app does not work. I've tried a number of fixes, all with no success: - settings put --user 0 secure camera_double_twist_to_flip_enabled 1 : Fails to set value. - settings put --user 10 secure camera_double_twist_to_flip_enabled 1 : Successfully sets value for the Work Profile (aka user 10), but doesn't affect the Personal Profile (user 0) where Gcam is installed). There are no other profiles set up. - settings put secure camera_double_twist_to_flip_enabled default : Value remains at 0. - **Settings > System > Languages & input > Advanced > Flip camera** : No such toggle exists in the Settings app. - **Settings > System > Gestures > Flip camera for selfie** : No such toggle exists in the Settings app. - Boot into **Safe Mode**, then settings put secure camera_double_twist_to_flip_enabled 1 : Successfully sets value, but only temporarily. When phone is rebooted into Regular Mode, the key value is RESET TO 0. The device is an unrooted Google Pixel 7 running GrapheneOS 13 (a ROM very similar to stock AOSP). This issue is being discussed on the [GrapheneOS development forum](https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/3214-twist-to-flip-frontback-camera-feature-missing) , where a different user running GrapheneOS 13 on a Google Pixel 6 did *not* encounter the same issue and was able to set the key value via ADB as expected.

I have been considering buying a Google Pixel 3 or 3 XL Android smartphone to use primarily for photography and phone calls. Google advertises that these phones have 12MP main cameras. That's fewer megapixels than I would like in a camera, but I was still considering those devices as possibilities. While performing research, I saw a short video clip that showed Google's UI. From what I could tell, 12MP is only available in 4:3 aspect ratio. In 16:9 aspect ratio, the resolution drops all the way down to a paltry 8MP. That's *much* less resolution that what I what in a camera. Is the resolution of the main camera in the Google Pixel 3 and 3XL only ~8MP in 16:9 mode? If so, is this limitation true for their entire line of Pixel smartphones?

I'm trying to take a panoramic photo of the sunset, but the only option I see to do this is called "Photo Sphere". When I select this it wants me to start at the dot, which appears to be level with the horizon. But if I do this it will greatly detract from the panorama because everything I want to see is in the sky and there is an ugly setting underneath it. How can I take a panorama without having to start in some arbitrary location that Google wants me to? Update: I just noticed there is a "panorama" tab off to the left of the default camera, but it only shoots in one direction and doesn't let me add additional up/down space if there isn't enough in portrait mode.

I have been getting overlays as such on my Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and now my Nexus 6P - haven't noticed exactly when they start to appear and have yet to find a way to disable them - please take a look at the following image: screenshot Screenshot (click to enlarge) If you look at the upper right, you should notice a few buttons on the viewfinder. It used to be just two, now I have three after the camera app updated. They were not there when I initially got any of my Nexus devices but shortly presented themselves afterwards. I do use my Nexus devices for debugging so I have disabled debug mode to see if there was any connection, but this does not seem to be the case. Is there sort sort of hidden button I must press (ex; how the developer menu is activated) in order to hide these buttons once again?

My Nexus 6 is unable to start the camera. The google camera app hangs when it starts and nothing shows up. Earlier the camera used to open but it lagged a bit when HDR was on. Now the camera isn't opening anymore. The other apps like Instagram that use the camera are also not able to open it. The app opens up and hangs, nothing shows up just black screen and sometimes the message "**Can't connect to Camera**" appears. This issue came after 5.1 and I also had buzz launcher installed once but then I removed it. The phone is less than 7 months old. What I've tried: 1. Forced stop the app (Google Camera) 2. Cleared cache of the app 3. Booted in recovery mode and wiped cache partition 4. Factory reset the device Nothing worked for me, I tried these steps one by one and then tested the camera but it is still not working. Please help me with this, I paid a lot of money for this phone on my own and it feels really bad and annoying that the camera isn't functional anymore. Thanks in advance. **Update**: after no solution was found and no help from Motorola, Google or flipkart, I have sent the phone for repair to the service center.
