I downloaded some .mp4 videos on my PC and I want play them on my Samsung Galaxy Ace 2.
Despite the .mp4 videos can be played in my PC1 *(with no problem)*, in my device *(using the predefined video media player)* the video cannot be played.
This screenshot shows the videos that my device cannot play them:
Only the video *(pointed with the green arrow)* - which is the default video that my device has can be played.
When I select any of the other videos, the device says: "Content not supported":
Each time I send the video *(via cable from the PC to the device)*, it will show two options:
Do you wish convert
I was reading this answer and this one too about similar problems, but what I understand is due the resolution of the video, but I have no idea what can I do for play these videos in my device *(despite those videos are .mp4 or .wmv files "the same as the predefined video - pointed with the green arrow in a previous screenshot")*.
I really don't want download another app and play the videos with them, hence I ask:
How can be played those videos wth the predefined app?
----------
1 Windows 7 Professional 32 bits. Using Google Chrome "as video player" and the Windows Media Player.
PS: I also read about software which can convert videos for device-compatibility, but I'm not sure if those are free-malware applications.

(insert_video_name_here.mp4)
before copy it to the device?
- Yes, convert and copy *(recommended)*.
- No, just copy *(File will copy, but it might be possible it cannot play in the device)*.
No matter which option I select, the video is not playable.
This is the information about the predefined app:

Corrupt files in microSD - How to know if files are damaged?
I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 with a 4GB Kingston microSD. This microSD has only a few files *(that I can remember) - visible both in PC and in file manager (default app) in the smartphone*: - Yu-Gi-Oh! I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 with a 4GB Kingston microSD.
This microSD has only a few files *(that I can remember) - visible both in PC and in file manager (default app) in the smartphone*:
- Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force 5.iso *(1.6 GB - for PPSSPP Emulator)*.
- Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force 5.cso *(1.5 GB - for PPSSPP Emulator)*.
- Folder "DIR" - 0 files in it.
- Folder "Music" - 73 .mp3 files.
- Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories.iso *(495 mb - for ePSXe Emulator)*.
**Background**
In previous ocassions, the PPSSPP emulator didn't read the .ISO file *(and I though it was the .ISO file)*, so, I compress the .ISO file in a .CSO file *which I read in formus that is recongized by the PPSSPP emulator*, however, the .CSO file was also not recognized and the app freezes.
Trying discarging both files, I used the emulator in my PC and all works well, so, I decided to move all my Music "73 .mp3 files" to the "microSD". After the music files where there, I use the default music player, but most of the files *(when trying to play "random")* says: **not supported** and skips until it finds a .mp3 file "apparentely" not corrupted or ends playing abruptly.
Even some .mp3 files plays for a few minutes, ends abruptly and search other random .mp3 file.
**What have I tried?**
- Scan for viruses the microSD.
- Download from other sites the ISO files.
- Format the microSD "via the available option in the Samsung Galaxy and vía PC (right click > Format device)".
- Following this answer I downloaded (SD Card Formatter 5.0.1), but the formatting process failed for both format options *(quick and overwrite)*.
For me, it this weird how this microSD can corrupt files *(most of them)* and not others. Also, my goal is use the microSD for storage games that I can use with the PPSSPP emulator "mostly, Yu-Gi-Oh! games".
I'll replace my microSD, but, before to do that, I want to know:
- Is there a way to activate a log file in Android for check wheter are files corrupted or missing?
- What resources or what else can I do for save the 4GB microSD for use as I intend to do?

I'm searching a way for get all my notes1 created in my Samsung Galaxy Ace II2 and export them to PC "in separately or unified text file (.txt)".
After hours of searching, I found this question ; however, I can't follow the provided steps and the final target is _quite_ different from the linked question.
As an alternative, I found a software called Remo Recover for Android but this app _looks like_ it cannot access the saved notes.
In another search, this answer suggests:
- Select memo/note.
- Select "Share" or "Send" selected note.
The problem with this solution is that I have more than 100 notes and some of them has 1500 characters, and making this manually takes much time.
I'm looking for a solution4 that download/export the saved notes from my smartphone and save them in my PC; those notes should2 be stored as
; I didn't find the name or another useful information about the default note/memo app.
2 My smartphone has not been rooted or modified; no additional notes app is in the smartphone.
3 Other acceptable file extensions could be XSL or DOCX.
4 I'm not sure if this question should be created on Software Recommendations too, because the possible solution could be a free or commercial app / software.
----------
Edit: Package name of Notes app:
" class="img-fluid rounded" style="max-width: 100%; height: auto; margin: 10px 0;" loading="lazy">
.txt
files (separately, or in a unified .txt
file).
----------
1 The app used for taking notes/memos is the default one integrated in the smartphone.

I was an Android beginner, I know nothing of 'hacking' some Android stuff. I found several issues of this case but no one that I look pretty ideal for my case.
My Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 has been inserted a new SD Card after a several time using no SD Card. That makes the system create
sdcard
in it's internal storage. Then my storage information (Setting -> Storage
) become 3 parts, which: **Device memory** (internal), **USB Storage** (internal), and **SD Card** (extSdCard). This thing become very annoying since my internal wasn't so big.
And when I open my **Gallery** it pop some notice There is not enough space (0 MB) in your device memory. Delete some files.
And always redirect me to the **Files**. On my **Files** there is 2 folders, which: **extSdCard** and **sdcard0**. On the setting of Files. I **can't** change the Set home directory
that refers to /storage/sdcard0
to (my hope) /storage/extSdCard
.
I done trying to moving all apps to internal storage with hoping that **USB Storage** not full, but it doesn't give any good solution just yet. I read several post and forum, also several solution using adb
but I don't think those solution can manage all problem, since because of this case, I can't save any voice note or picture from social chatting apps, in some case, I can't receive any bluetooth transfer also.
So I want that **USB Storage** begone, and my sdcard0
was symlinked to the real external SD Card, or another step that make my system become like the old like Android system. Please help me. Thanks a lot before.
FYI: right now, my phone isn't rooted yet. But I can root it anytime, if it really needed.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace II _that for a unknown reason_, each time that I plug my smartphone _via USB cable_ to my PC, most of the times, my device is not recognized.
When is not recognized, I have to follow this steps:
- Open _device manager_
- Select _portatil devices_.
- Select the driver _that has the warning sign_ > Update driver
And _between 20 segs - 1 minute_ later, I receive this message _(in Spanish)_:
_Basically it says that the driver for my device was **installed**:_
The problem that I have is _kind of_ similiar to these questions .
My PC is a Windows 7 Professional - 32 bits.
I bought My Samsung Galaxy Ace II more than a year ago and it wasn't rooted or any similar changes to its system.
----------
After check the Register _as says in this source _, I can't find the _upperFilter_ entry. I really don't know what else can be done.
I already installed Samsung Kies _as suggested in his comment #1 _, but my device isn't compatible with Kies.
Windows Update _sometimes_ finds and installs **Device MTP USB** missing driver, but when is not found, I can't plug my device in my PC.
**What could be the cause of this behavior?**

I try to customize ringtone, so I copied files to "/system/media/audio/ringtones". Depending on the app, either the copy is forbidden or the copy is ignored.
Next try -- as with Galaxy Ace, I created directory "/mnt/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones" and copied the files there. This worked, however Android does not pick them up when selecting audio for a ringtone.
When I first customized my phone (around 2 years ago) I used the app "Tone Picker" to help the system to select the customized audio, maybe something was changed in the app, I don't know, however this also does not work.
I would prefer to copy somehow the files without need of external application anyway.
So how to do it?

* the (external) card is inserted
* I alread copied CM and Open Gapps (pico version) there
* yet when I reboot in the recovery mode I only have option of install from "internal sd card"
And when I browse internal sd card, there is no mount point for external card, so I assume it is not mounted at all.
Is it OK to copy the files to internal SD? Or what else should I do? Thank you for the help in advance.

I hope this question fits this site, as in my opinion the problem is caused by Android.
My problem is that my phone froze all of the sudden while browsing settings, and ever since the first freeze it reboots all the time. It boots just fine, but after a short period it freezes then reboots again, in a loop.
I tried to leave my phone until the battery drains, then take it out for a day, but the issue is still present. I wiped the cache partition from recovery mode, the reboot is still occurs even in safe mode.
**UPDATE:** **Safe mode seems to be working, at least I can browse my phone without it freezing. However it freezes in safe mode if I go to the "Application manager" in settings, thus I can't uninstall any applications.**
I've read that a hard (factory) reset would probably solve the problem, however I have important information on my phone (contacts, messages, pictures) which I don't want to lose.
Since I assume that the hard reset would solve my problem, my question is, how can I save my data from the phone? Is there any utility that allows me to directly copy from the phone?
- **Phone:** Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 (i8160)
- **Android version:** 4.1.2
- **Kernel version:** 3.0.31-1106830
The phone is **not rooted** or tinkered with in any way.
I know there are already similar question on this site, however they did not receive a working answer, and I feel like my situation might be a different issue.

I connect my samsung galaxy ace 2 into my Windows pc, and there are 2 directories shown. My SD card, and the internal storage, named
Phone
. Both of these seem to be empty. the SD card directory, named Card
Says that there is 3.57 GB Free of 3.68 GB
, yet opening it shows **Nothing.** Phone
says there is 1GB of 1GB free, and there's nothing inside. I have come to realise that what i have emptied out is just data the apps collect and use, not the apps themselves. All aps remain on my phone and work fine. **Yet it says it is completely empty.**
Now, what my phone says is a completely different story. It thinks the total space is 1.2 GB
and there is 1.1 GB
free, with 71.16 MB
being used for applications and the rest for Misc files. There are only slight differences in the SD card, with 3.69 GB
Total and 3.58 GB
Free.
So, My Phone and PC contradict each other in pretty much all aspects. I have windows setup to show hidden files. But it isn't. I want to see **all** the files on my phone, from my computer. How can I acheive this? Searching for this issue on google doesn't help much from what I have found.
EDIT: The samsung website specifies the phone as having "Built in memory 4GB (2GB user memory)". So why is it I only get half of what i'm supposed to have?

I'm using Samsung Galaxy Ace 2, running Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread). I launch the service menu by dialing *#*#197328640#*#*.
Does anybody know a different way to get to the service menu AUDIO options or another way to boost in-call microphone volume?

I have a Samsung Galaxcy Ace 2, and it doesn't display images due to lack of memory, as it says. When I open the gallery app, it says "There is not enough space (__ mb) in your device memory. Delete some files." Whenever I do so, it's still not enough. I have this problem a lot, and I delete most of my unnecessary files, and it remains unchanged, usually, and rarely actually displays my remaining images.
My device memory is 1 GB, and I have an 8 GB memory card, and most, if not all my things are on the memory card. Can anyone help me with this? I have no clue anymore, and alternative solutions just don't seem effective to me at all.

I'm very happy with CM11 ported to my phone(Samsung Galaxy Ace 2). One day I bought Bluetooth keyboard.
When I tried to connect it, it paired and... wat? No connection!? I thought that this ROM has some bug, so i looked at logcat. I found that there's no uhid driver and I think that developers didn't compile kernel with "CONFIG_UHID=y".
I'm gonna compile new kernel.
First I need to check it, but there's no /proc/config.gz. How can I check(and compile) that without it?
ROM homepage: http://novafusion.pl/
EDIT: Seems like that other CM/AKOP ROM's for my device don't have uhid support(or kernel source is crap?). Keyboard works fine with Stock ROM
