I am looking for a solution to auto SMS reply a missed call from a specific contact anytime. All solution I found are either for all contacts, or for limited time intervals. Anyone has an idea?

Due to a busy schedule, missed call are a constant, and many times the person calling insists on keep calling until I answer. The ideia is to automatically send an SMS with a pre-defined message to let the caller know that I'm on the phone or otherwise busy, and that I will be returning the call as soon as possible. So, how can I send an automatic SMS for missed calls?

I don't want to disable missed call notifications And I don't have a "locked screen". Somebody called me, I missed the call but I met them. I don't need to call them back, so I don't want to tap the missed call notification('cos I guess that'd call them back). How do I remove the notification without calling them back?

On the ADB shell, I run the command adb -s shell am start -a android.intent.action.CALL -d tel:123456 to place a call on my testing device. It works great. But I also want to simulate a missed call from the ADB shell, as I would by telnet with the command gsm cancel +123456, for example. I cannot find anywhere how to do this. Is this even possible with ADB? If so, how? P.S: the command adb -s shell input keyevent 6 is not an answer!

I have a Samsung Galaxy Y phone with Gingerbread. I have just discovered that I do not receive any kind of missed call notifications when my phone is busy on another call. I am quite shocked as this facility is available even in very cheap, ordinary phones. How do I fix it? Is it because of some phone settings of mine? or is there an android update? or do I need to install some app? or is the trouble with my network operator?

Consider this scenario. I am listening to music on my android phone and I have DND mode on and set to *priority only*. A spam call comes in and my phone dutifully blocks the call right away **but** the android missed call notification sound/chime plays. I think it is similar to the sound the phone plays when you hang up at the end of a normal phone call. I would very much like to silence this sound so that it *never* plays when a call is missed and sent straight to voice mail. Is it possible to do this with an app or in the android settings?

Is there a way to disable missed call notifications? I haven't found it in any settings on the device, but I'm wondering if anyone knows a trick to disable them. Possibly an app that someone knows of? Background: I use Google Voice, which also tells me about missed calls. When I miss a call that the phone itself gets, I get a duplicate notification that sticks around until I go into the call log. I don't want to lose the Google Voice notifications, because they also tell me if I missed calls outside of signal range or when the phone is off. EDIT: I don't think there is a real solution to this, so I have submitted an Android feature request . If you are interested in this feature, please go star the issue or post your thoughts.

I have a HTC one x with the default HTC sense. Missed calls do not appear in the notification list which is frustrating ... The calls appear in the call history log so it knows about them. I've also tried calling myself with a another phone and it all appears as normal but when the call is hung up, no notification appears. I'm sure it use to show notifications and I cannot find any settings that would control this. Will factory reset if this just seems wrong/buggy.

My mobile is Lenovo A7000 with Android lolipop Recently I the missed call logs not showing, sometimes for one or the other number it shows, it might be stored contact or new but the log is not happening, I also cleared the logs and cleared cache memory of call logs, but not fixed. I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy 2 and have had a sporadic problem: A person calls me, my phone doesn't ring, kicks them over to voice mail, doesn't show as a missed call, and then the voice mail shows up on my phone as much as an hour later. I have tested this from my land line and sometimes the phone does everything it's supposed to and other times doesn't ring and doesn't log a missed call but records a voice mail.

I think there's a bug in Android where some *Alicia Han* appears to be calling. This happens *some times* if you hang up on someone calling you, or you have a missed call. The name appears in the instant before the correct name of the caller appears on the phone. To be specific: In the interim between the phone screen turns on and the content is loaded on the screen. All relevant hits I get on the subject is this tweet. So I'm not crazy! Have any of you seen this, and do you know what happens / who Alicia Han is? This has happened haphazardly since I got my HTC Sensation XE a year ago. Edit: I think the problem might be that there is a standard Label text for a Person entry (such as the ones in the Persons list) that is set to 'Alicia Han' and the label text is replaced when the Person information is fully loaded. Edit: The bug is reproducible (at least for me) by hanging up an incoming call. The name Alicia Han appears for a few milliseconds before the real name is loaded.

I have a *Samsung Galaxy S6012.* Long time back (I do not remember when) I've got a call. Even though I answered that call, it was put as missed call. Since then it shows a missed call alert in my phone. First I removed that particular number from the list. Still the same alert was there. Then I removed the entire log history – still the same missed call alert. My carrier having pretty high monthly prices for voicemail, I did not take the service. However, when I'm at school, unable to answer, and my busy doctor calls me, knowing I probably won't be able to join her for weeks with her busy schedule and only one phone line for the whole clinic, or when a hidden number (which could be anything from the hospital to telemarketing) calls me, I really wish I did have a voicemail box. But I don't have one, and my carrier isn't getting any cheaper. Prices closely match other carriers, of course, like any "healthy" telecom market. So I have been searching for an app that allows this, to no avail. I did find an app that automatically answers an SMS back to the caller if I miss their call, but 1. it didn't always work, 2. 95 % people calling me are doing so from non-mobile phones, 3. some people actually pay for incoming SMS, 4. it doesn't allow people to leave a message. I saw something called Google Voice, which sounds amazing, with not only a free voicemail box, but even the ability to view them as text, and have them in your inbox, but when I go to https://www.google.com/voice , I'm taken to Google Mail. And searching the Play Store for "Google Voice" doesn't yield any appropriate results. These things tell me, I guess, that the only "Google Voice" available to me, in Canada, is that thing that enables you to make calls from your PC browser's Gmail inbox. So is there any way for me to have a voicemail without paying my carrier's high fees? There should be some way to do this locally, at least, because the call is here, and the phone has an SD card to save it on, and the ability to answer it, listen to it and talk to it, as illustrated by the fact it's, uhm, a phone. And it can record sound, too. Unless they put some sort of lock in phones to prevent people from escaping carriers' abusive costs. Or so I hope. So, is there something I can do? Did I misunderstand the whole Google Voice thing? Did I miss something obvious? Is there some way to do this? I just received a call today, but my phone locked up during the call, and when I went to the missed call list, the number didn't show up. Is there any way to somehow recover the number that was calling?

My Samsung Galaxy Spica (GT-I5700) has this problem: when it first starts or resume from airplane mode (i.e. when turning off airplane mode), the GSM network status appears to be normal (full signal) but the phone won't receive calls or SMS. Only after I made a call or send a message then all the missed calls and SMSes came at once. How do I restore the normal function?
