How to view/edit a long URL?
I have a long URL displayed in the URL box of Chrome on Android 11. I would like to view and edit it. When I use a pencil tool, only the last part of the URL is visible and accessible for editing. How to scroll left to the beginning of it? I tried two fingers with no effect.

I have a lot of music on my phone and I think I use it rather differently than most people:
- all the music is actually on my phone as mp3s. I do not stream music from anywhere
- my playlists are long - 8 hours, 12 hours, kind of thing
- I generally don't shuffle but want to play them in order, because there's a pattern to the music
- I get new music from time to time and don't just want to stick it on the end
I have tried various things to make playlists but what they all seem to have in common is that "add to playlist" adds it at the end and there's no way to move things around. I understand if you had a 10-song list you could delete 5, add the new thing, then add those 5 back but I'm not doing that with hundreds or thousands of entries.
I don't need to edit the file on my phone -- copying a file out to my PC and editing it with a text editor, then copying it back would be fine for me. After all, I generally add music to the list only when I'm near my PC, where I keep the originals of the music files. I can handle XML, json, or other semi-human-readable formats without complaint.
I'm really not invested in any other features of a music player. I want to bring up the playlist, put my headphones in, hit play, and stop interacting with my phone at that point. I appear to be using "Samsung Music" which came with the phone, but I see I have VLC also installed. I will cheerfully install something different if it gives me the capability to truly edit a playlist.

Image resized. Click for full size
I'm unsure of its functionality and couldn't find any information in the user manual or online resources.
Is this icon a feature of Android in general, or is it specific to Honor devices? Any insights would be helpful.

The Camera app stores photos in some DCIM folder, and these can easily be accessed to attach to an email message, or to download to a pc over an USB cable.
In the Photos app, I can edit a photo, and save it as a separate photo file, and can see it among the unedited photo's and attach it to emails.
However, those edited photos are not visible over the USB connection, and cannot be downloaded to a pc.
It seems as if only the Camera app can store in the DCIM folders, but other apps can read files from that folder. Is it true that other apps cannot store in DCIM? Is the photo editor part of the Camera app? I did not yet try other photo editor apps.
Related problem is that the app Kopie ID from the dutch government cannot store the edited photo of an ID in DCIM so that you cannot upload it in a browser web app. (Purpose of this app is to be able to black out unneeded sensitive info, and to add a watermark)
I guess that android tries to play it more safe than good old unix / dos, where the file is the basic unit of info and the directory structure allows for very flexible file sharing between arbitrary apps.
Thanks for any hints on sharing files between phone and pc, and between apps.

It seems there is some script/software for HTC phones to edit the splash image, but it seems it will set the image (picture) resolution to that of HTC phone's resolution.

Personally I do a lot with VBA in Excel and like it to explore various software to find the one that fits my needs best. I am a friend of proper data management, e.g. having photos taken at hand based on keyword management. Since I have my phone always with me, I have various lists in a text editor app. E.g. next needed maintenance at the car, grocery shopping list or a list of places I discover in my hometown. Sometimes I want to read and edit these lists at my notebook using Wordpad.
So I connect my phone with a USB cable, select the folder on the internal phone memory and see all the files as proper .txt.
**But:** On my notebook when right-clicking a file, I can select 'open with' (there I select 'Wordpad'). But the files in the internal phone memory do not show this option on right-click.
If I copy the file to my computer, it works properly. If I have Wordpad open and select a file via 'file open' from the phone, then it opens properly in 'Wordpad', **but** automatically with an in the file name. Obviously, write-protected. If I want to save any edits, I cannot save that back to the phone in the same file. Only to my computer and then copy back to my phone.
**My setting:** Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 with Android Nougat. Windows 7 Notebook.
**My question:** How can I enable opening a text file with Wordpad (solved with 'file open'), edit, and save the edits directly with the file on the phone when USB is connected? Ideally getting also the 'open with' option when right-clicking a file on the phone. Do I need to change any USB access option on my phone permanently? I searched via Google in various word combinations but did not find a helpful post.

On previous android versions, I can easily read and edit system XML files using a text editor but XML files from android 12 cannot be read properly and they looks like random symbols. For example, I pulled `wallpaper_info.xml` from /data partition and text editors can't open the file properly.

Is there a decent camera app that will easily let me add a bit of text to my photos and store that text in the image file as EXIF/IPTC/XMP metadata? So far I have tried the stock Samsung camera app, Camera Zoom FX, Camera FV-5 and Catch Notes. I have read descriptions on numerous camera apps, but it seems like all they have to offer are various ways to distort - I mean enhance - your photos. While Catch Notes did offer ways to store your photos along with a description, it did not store the info as meta data inside the photo itself, which means it will be a mess if you ever want to transfer the photos to your computer and expect the data to stay intact.
This seems like a no-brainer that you'd expect to be available in almost every camera app. I mean, we've got the camera and the keyboard in the same device - what's the problem? I just want to be able to take a photo, click on an icon and type "This is a Bohemian Waxwing" and have that description stored inside the JPEG file. I'd even be fine with a gallery app that only let's me add information to already existing photos.

Some apps block Screen Mirroring. This means that application developers can choose themselves if they want to block Screen Mirroring.
An example is "JioTV" app.
Many Modders are able to **allow** screen mirroring in its mod versions.
Such apps **does not allow screen recording** also. When casting or screen recording, they display black screen and block audio in the recording.
I want to **mod** "**MS Teams**" **apk** so I can screen record the class in my android phone without creating a public notification.
Any idea where to look for the "screen cast/record" code line!, That I can edit so I can finally screen record the app? I use Apk-Editor to edit apps.
Till now I have to use screen record in my pc to achieve this because Ms Teams android app blocks it.🙁 But I want to record in phone because it is more easily portable.

Most apks have a /lib dir inside with .so files that can be several megabytes. Some even come loaded with libs for different architectures (arm, mips, x86). Libs for relevant arch are copied in
/data/app-lib/[package name]
at install time, so they take double the space.
I tried to strip the apk from the /lib folder, rewrite, zipalign
and put back to install location /data/app
or /system/app
or /system/priv-app
to reclaim some space.
Tried with Chrome v78, it went from 45 mb apk to 15 mb...
Other apps too.
Everything seems to work.
Anyone thinks it's a bad idea? IMO the very Android system should perform this operation by default at install time...
***edit 13 Nov***
I wrote a script to automate the strip operation, just have to copy the apk to strip in a dir where this script resides, along with zip
and zipalign
binaries.
#!/system/bin/sh
for filename in find . -name '*.apk'
do
./zip -d $filename "lib/*"
./zipalign -fv 4 $filename $filename.new|tail
mv $filename.new $filename
chmod 644 $filename
done;
On my device I can swap original with stripped apks on the fly and they (usually) run fine without rebooting, even system apps.

Sorry if my question is unclear. If you need clarification I will do my best to provide it, this is just a weird problem and I could not think how to ask it.
EDIT: repackaging the app worked, app functions normally, only had to change the app package and nothing else
