I've got a Motorola Moto G34 (Snapdragon CPU, Android 14, not rooted) and have installed CUBE ACR along with CUBE ACR Helper to record my VOIP calls. It works as follows: as soon as I start a call, I click the recording button, and it begins recording. When I finish the call, it stops recording automatically.
If possible, my goal is to have CUBE ACR start recording the surrounding sounds at first, and when I make a VOIP call, it should continue recording the call, regardless of whether it stops recording the surrounding sounds or keeps recording them as well.
If this is possible, please let me know how to set it up.

I have a SIP account which I entered into the "Internet Call Settings" of the native Android phone app. I am able to place outgoing SIP calls, but no luck with the incoming ones. I am new to the SIP subject, so I was wondering what I am missing and a description how incoming SIP works would be a plus.
**Info:**
- Phone: Nexus 4
- OS: Android 4.3
- SIP Provider: DID Logic (sip.didlogic.net)
- Google Voice account: available
I am on T-Mobile $30 unlimited data and text plan in case it makes any difference, but it still does not work when I'm at home on Wi-Fi.
How does the inbound SIP work? Does the phone or Wi-Fi need to constantly listen for a signal on port 5060, or does the phone do a simple keep-alive connection with the SIP server in the background?

My Phone is a Moto g7 Play.
My provider is Koodo (a brand of the Canadian Telus), I am dialing from Canada.
My account includes the following feature:
> **Unlimited Long Distance Pack**
>
> Get unlimited long distance calling to 27 countries including the **US**, China, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, Bangladesh, and the UK from anywhere in Canada.
When I dial a US number, the call goes through, but there is no sound on my end. I don't hear the ringing tones, the other party, nothing; though once the call connects the other party hears me.
Accepting calls (from Canada or the US) works fine. Dialing Canadian numbers works fine. Dialing UK numbers works fine. Dialing a number in a country not in the "Unlimited Long Distance Pack" works fine. Dialing a US toll-free (1-800, 1-888, etc.) number appears to work - I don't hear any ringing tones, but I do hear the message from the other side of the line.
It seems that only dialing US non-toll-free numbers has this issue.
But here's the kicker: if I put my SIM in a different phone, it works without an issue.
What can cause this strange behaviour?
----------
**Edit:**
Turning VoLTE off solved the issue. Then I tried WiFi calling, and it exhibited the same issue.
So it looks like a VoIP issue (as @Robert suggested in the comments).
I now have a workaround, except that I cannot use it when I don't have 3G connectivity.
The question is whether it can be solved in a better way, either on my end or by the provider.
----------
**Edit 2:**
I had a chat with Telus tech support.
Apparently it is a known problem that affects several phone models on their network.
There’s a workaround: pausing and resuming the call restores the sound (for that call).
They opened a ticket for me too, so maybe a permanent solution will be found.

Most of the devices are Samsung. Oh, there is also an iPhone, but we can make do without that one, so an Android-only solution is enough.
Are there any tools/apps for calling from one Android device to another, on the same Wifi network, without creating accounts & co.?
We've been using WhatsApp but it's annoying to use, due to the impossibility to use it on multiple devices (the web version is limited in many respects) and also other arbitrary limitations.
Is there an old fashion simple VoIP app that can be used for this?
I don't even know what to google...

If there is nothing like this on Android, is there any indication that Google will add something like this to a future version?

My last test was with GrapheneOS on a Pixel 6a and Conversation as client both in the same Wireless LAN and the Users had accounts on the same server.
How can I find out the cause for the long delay?
How can I make it faster?

The phones are a Fairphone 4 (with the latest eOS) and a Fairphone 3 (with the latest iodéOS). The problem occurs every time someone calls, both with and without video. Everything else seems to be working fine, just voice is unusable.
Some internet searches reveal that the issue might not be related to MS Teams itself, but I doubt that, since normal calls and VOIP works just fine. So the question is: is there a workaround, some package that I’m missing, or is MS Teams plainly incompatible with de-Google-d operating systems?

Curiosly, Fongo app, another voip, allows one use Contacts within app, but does make call itself, not through Talkaton, like regular Phone app. Regretfully Fongo sms messages are not free.

I want to use my phone number when traveling abroad and there is no possibility to setup roaming, etc. So the idea is: I have Android smartphone. I have my SIM inserted in the phone.
The phone works as usual phone - it is turned on and connected to charger. I need software that is capable to answer for incoming phone calls and relay the call via internet to some other phone or PC with corresponding software that runs on it. That is when somebody calls me, my phone that is turned on in my home answers to call, transfer the call/voice via internet to another country where I obtain some signal to my second phone or PC and can have a conversation.
I have VOIP phone number but this doesn't solve the issue - I need exactly the phone number bound to my physical SIM - some services verify that number is virtual and do not work with such numbers. Could you please suggest Android application that solve the issue.

I use Republic Wireless so the majority of my voice calls are VoIP.
I use a call recording app to help me recall conversations after the fact. But in order for it to work, I have to turn off wifi and make the call over the cell network.
The recording app made me acknowledge that I understand that no app can record VoIP calls.
Question: why is cell recording allowed, but not VoIP. Is it the OS limitation? Is it for security? Is it a legal reason?

I recently upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S7 Active to an S8 Active(G892A). In doing so I have encountered an issue with the new OS and WiFi calling. Thus far, I have been unable to establish a WiFi Calling session in the OS (7.0 Nougat) when connected to an Unsecure guest network - which happens to be the only option for data at work as the building is not suitable for cell service. When at home, I am able to establish a connection to the service.
This was not an issue with my previous GS7 Active running Android 6.Som.Ething
Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any insight into fixing it?
I have a sneaking suspicion it might have something to do with security certificate requirements

Is there any way I can take an incoming call and use an app or a system feature to turn my Android phone into a forwarding client so that I can then forward this via VOIP to any other client in the world?
What I'd like to do is very similar to OS X's continuity feature , but instead of requiring the phone to be on the same Wi-Fi network, I'd like it to be able to be anywhere in the world. Imagine if you could buy a phone, a local SIM card (that could be topped up via the internet), and leave the phone plugged in all the time and connected to Wi-Fi so that it can forward any incoming calls over VOIP to any other VOIP client in the world. What I'm trying to build is a dedicated DID (direct inward dialing) number but using my current local number in whatever country I am.
Is this possible? The closest thing I've seen is Google Voice or Skype's incoming numbers or even regular DID numbers, but they're not offered for all locations, so that's why I'd like to build this solution if possible.

I have a cell phone plan that includes 9 hours of national calls, however, international calls are billed at extreme minute-rates. For this reason I use VOIP/SIP for international calls thorugh the built-in SIP option (dialer > menu > settings > call settings > accounts).
The built-in dialer have 3 options to choose betweeen, and none of them are what I am looking for - Use Internet calling:
1) for all calls when data network is available
2) only for internet calls
3) ask for each call
It would be so simple to have the dialer check the number called, and if it's an international number (i.e. it starts by +) then use VOIP, otherwise use standard cell calls.
Unless I am blind I don't suppose there are any way of doing this with the built-in dialer. I frankly don't understand why not, I would have thought this is a fairly common situation in this day and age.
Is there a way that could solve the problem?
I know I could have two dialers, but it annoys me that something as simple and obvious can't be done automatically.
