> Tip: To check estimated battery capacity, tap Battery and then Battery health and then Battery capacity. > Battery health assistance [reduces] the battery’s maximum voltage in stages. It starts at 200 charge cycles and continues gradually until 1000 charge cycles. \- [Understand your Pixel battery](https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/15738128?hl=en) Battery health assistance is a new feature, introduced with the Android 16 update. On Pixel 9a (the newest Pixel) battery health assistance is turned on by default, and cannot be turned off. On earlier models, it is possible to turn off battery health assistance.[*] This can allow the battery to hold a larger charge (higher mAh), while degrading faster. The rise in mAh would be visible through Android API's and third-party apps. In this case, would the "estimated capacity" rise accordingly? Or, does the system appear to prevent "estimated capacity" from rising, even when the maximum mAh rises? I suppose it _could_ set "estimated capacity" using the maximum mAh obtained without exceeding the voltage limit that _would_ be imposed by battery health assistance. Even if battery health assistance has been turned off. I note the "battery health status" (not available on all models) is defined as whether "remaining battery capacity" is below 80% or not. I have access to a Pixel 8a (99% estimated capacity) and a new Pixel 9. [*] The help page does _not_ comment how this feature is related to the Pixel 6a "appeasement" payments and mandatory Android 16 update . The mandatory programme for Pixel 6a reduces battery capacity after 400 cycles, not 200 (if it has the "impacted" model of battery). Also, the mandatory programme does not mention further progressive reductions.

I deleted the oldest two thinking I have too many devices. - I found a site to transfer older Audible APK to pc and then transfer it to the new phone. - Or is there a better way. - I cannot seem to find site again. I have a S24 phone. I think made in Korea made Samsung knock off, not sure. Nothing saying Samsung comes up when phone boots up. Picked it up off Temu. It is running Android 13,with Snapdragon 3rd gen. I checked this with an app to read phone information.

I often receive the following error message when attempting to perform Android security updates: > There was a network error while downloading the update. Please try again later or connect to a different network. In researching this error message, it is apparent that many other people have been reporting the same issue for years: - Update cannot be downloaded on specific networks : GooglePixel https://old.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/10whijh/update_cannot_be_downloaded_on_specific_networks/ - Not able to update to android 15. Shows error in network while downloading although connected to WiFi - Google Pixel Community https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/322921191/not-able-to-update-to-android-15-shows-error-in-network-while-downloading-although-connected-towifi - Pixel 7 System Update Fails : GooglePixel https://old.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/ycejcz/pixel_7_system_update_fails/ - There was a network error while downloading the update. Please try again later or connect to a diffe - Google Pixel Community https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/205161477/there-was-a-network-error-while-downloading-the-update-please-try-again-later-or-connect-to-a-diffe Over the years, people have offered "magical" solutions, such as toggling WiFi on and off, which likely has nothing to do with the real issue. Yet some do claim that such actions have temporarily fixed the issue (not myself, though). What's even more odd is that those reporters have not indicated they made any additional changes. In Google's latest Android version, Android 16, this issue is still present. Ironically, the issue seems to be most prevalent on Google's own Pixel devices. Does anyone know what is causing this bug and how to actually fix it? Update --- A couple of our community members asked some good questions... here are the answers: - The issue occurs regardless of whether WiFi or carrier data is used. - I've seen the issue occur on many Google Pixel devices, starting with the Pixel 4. Online reports indicate it was present going back to at least the Pixel 2. I've seen this issue on several Samsung devices as well, although online reports of this issue tend to mention the Pixel devices more often than Samsung devices. - Regarding proxies, VPNs, or blocked ports/servers, I need to investigate further. It definitely happens on a wide range of devices and on a wide range of networks, but perhaps there is a common element that I can discover.

My Nexus 5 has burned in a few times over the past year, which is very unusual since I **never** leave it on when not in use (30 second dim time), but today I finally noticed the trend. When I charge the phone with certain chargers, they cause the screen to become fuzzy and distorted, with a colored tinge (what I *thought* was a burn-in). This is 100% reproducible. I've used a few chargers in America, 1 of which resulted in this, so it is not a problem native to Australia. Here in Australia, I use the following Samsung charger, which works perfectly: Model: EP-TA10HWE Input: 100-240V~ 50-60Hz 0.35A OUTPUT: 5.3V === 2.0A S/N: SE2FB04YS/B-E The bad one I used today, which triggered the problem again was also from Samsung: Model: ETA0U10HWE Input: 100-240V~ 50-60Hz 0.15A OUTPUT: 5.0V === 0.7A S/N: DK3G904HS/7-E N363 Here are the symptoms: 1. Plug the phone in, as per normal, with the screen off. Location, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc don't matter. (2 hours will do this - a full charge is not needed to replicate it.) 2. The screen gets a blue tinge, and duller colors. This worsens the longer it is charged. The tinge is noticeably less present at the edges of the screen. 3. Once unplugged, the screen will still get worse over time. This is especially true when using it - an hour of activity on the phone will result in.... 4. **Very** dulled colors, barely distinguishable, a fuzzy screen, and shadow images left wherever objects move. Vertical lines trail behind in these shadow images. Screen is completely white when viewing it from a 45 degree angle. Image album of the screen distortion as the phone charges: Image Facts and other info: - At the top of the screen, there are small parts which are somewhat immune to the blurring and fading. I have scribbled the bits out in this image: https://goo.gl/M7lbwJ - There is no image burned into the screen. It is only a blurring, fading, colored tinge (the color has been green, blue and purple so far), and shadow image (very noticeable dragging a white box across a black background. Dragging the box left means vertical black lines on the right side of the box). - It is impossible to see anything except white when the screen is viewed from a 45 degree angle. - I once cracked the screen (not badly), and had it replaced. It was at a relatively cheap store ($150 AUD), not by the manufacturer. I can't remember if the burn ever happened before the replaced screen. - This has happened about 6 times. Each time I solved it by leaving it on with the "Screen Burn-in Tool" overnight, on maximum brightness. It seems to take about 12 hours to fix it fully. - The phone behaves as normal once recovered - no one could tell the difference between my phone and another. Battery, brightness, etc, are all normal. - It always charges at the expected rate in all chargers. Nothing remarkable about the power graphs, or power usage of apps. The "bad" chargers work normally for other phones. - I've always had the phone in a case, and only ever dropped it that once. I take care of my stuff. ### UPDATE: It happened with a USB cable plugged into a laptop today. What's weird is that I've used this cable with this laptop about a dozen times before (it's only a few weeks old), but it hasn't triggered the effect in it before. There could be some kind of connection to heavily using the phone while it's charging, or right before charging it, as several of the times that this has triggered, I've been recently using my phone heavily (thus why it needed charging). For example, the other times I charged my phone (using the same cable and laptop), I'd only been topping it up, or charging it at the end of the day. ### UPDATE 2: Today I got a brand new Samsung Galaxy S5 for use at work. It came with a brand new charger and brand new cable too. Last night I plugged the new charger into the same wall socket as my old one usually goes in (it was in my luggage), with the new cable, and charged my Nexus 5. Today, I noticed the tint was coming back very slightly, but didn't realize why. When I charged my phone this evening, and it was 100% blurry and tinted, I realized. Everything about the actual charger is identical, except the S/N (Serial Number), and the country of manufacturing. Comparison: Image If we assume that the chargers are the same (it was plugged into the same wall socket), then that must mean that the cable is what's doing it to the phone, since the cables are very different. The new one has the text: E321011 ЯJ AWM STYLE 21104 80°C 30V VW-1 23AWG*2C LUXSHARE-ICT NON-PVC The old one has the text: E102671-0 ЯJ AWM 21445 80°C 30V VW-1 23AWG*2C 30AWG*2C KAYANG HX NT NON-PVC NON-P ### UPDATE 3: Using my good charger base with the new cable didn't cause any problems. Using my new charger base with the good cable __________. (testing now)

I had Revolut on my Redmi Note 8 Pro phone for a while. First when rooted, I used Magisk Hide to get around its security. 2-3 years ago my system started bootlopping and I just went with clean vendor ROM (MIUI) instead. Revolut worked fine on the device until this week. I noticed that it first showed some error that the device can't run the app because of potential security risks, such as rooting, unlocked bootloader, etc. After that it switched to brilliant UX of just showing infinite black screen over and over again. - My phone is **not rooted**. - It still has **unlocked bootloader**. - The ROM is **MIUI Global 12.5.15**. So the only potential culprit is unlocked bootloader, but it has been for years now. I don't want to lock it, nor do anything that causes any sort of data loss. E.g. I know I could go back to root + Magisk Hide, but I don't have time for it now. Revolut support was beyond useless and the only useful thing they told me to do was using some SafetyNet check app, which failed the test, with no details as to why. Other than that, they recommended basic troubleshooting I've already tried, like reinstalling, cache clearing, data clearing, restarting the device, etc. And to lose my data with factory reset, Magisk Hide or anything similar. Other banking apps I have, like mBank and Curve, still work problemlessly BTW. Why did Revolut suddenly decide to cut me off from my money? Is it related to some SafetyNet update? I doubt as it said it's deprecated in the SafetyNet test app? Is there any way to get around it **without losing data of other apps**?

How to quickly switch between two apps on one half of the split-screen view?

I'm in this scenario a lot:
I'm using split screen opened to App1 taking the first half of the screen and App2 taking the second half of the screen. I frequently need to switch between App2 and App3 on the second half of the screen while keeping App1 on the first half. One way to switch between them is to tab the *recent apps button* then *drag* the app window to the second half of the screen. Unfortunately this process takes from 5 to 15 seconds each time I want to switch between App2 and App3, which is very exhaustive as I need to switch between them in a very frequent manner (About 3 to 10 times within 5 minutes).

How could I switch between App2 and App3 on the second half of the screen quickly just by some gesture and the apps get instantly switched without the need to drag or re-position the apps windows in order to re-fit the split screen each time?

A gesture example could be: swiping from the buttom edge of the screen to upwards on the second half of the screen (if screen is in horizontal mode).

**Important clarification:**
I'm asking about switching apps while being in multi-app split screen view. I'm not asking about single app view. One example of apps which works very well for the single app view is EAS App Switcher . What I need is that when I switch to another app it's opened in the second half of the splitted screen (not the full screen which destroys the split screen view).
Let me clarify more. I have App1 and App2 active (in split screen mode). EAS will do the job if it replaces App2's window with App3's while keeping App1's as is. What it does is that it opens App3 on full screen (single app view) destroying the split-screen view and App1 becomes in the background instead of keeping App1 active and next to it is App3 on the other screen half.

It would be very helpful if exist some app or launcher that achieves this.

I'm on Android 6.0.1 on Samsung Note 4 with root access.

We know with almost 99% certainty that it is who they say they are but we would like to cororbererate the number of the individual in question with the # in his or her phone. And as I said before both phone owners are now deceased and there is a pin lock on each phone. Is there any suggested free forensic software available out there or another way possibly to extract the data without loss? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
